More Twitter Followers In 10 Simple Steps

More Twitter Followers In 10 Simple Steps

“How do I get more traffic?” is the cry far and near. There are numerous strategies to acquire more traffic and the proper use of Twitter is one of them. Note that I said proper, there is an improper way and in this article we will address these.

1. Make sure you take the time to compose a Twitter bio that will portray the message that you want others to know about you. What do you want them to know about you that are pertinent to your online business or other wards? Your bio will inspire people to follow you or not. Take the time to make it count.

2. Have you made any tweets before following people and hoping they will follow you back? In addition to a bio that informs people about yourself you want to post tweets that will inspire people with trust and confidence in you. Your tweets should be about your business. Provide links to your blog, website or content that you penned to let people know who you are.

3. Build rapport. Many people make the mistake to just sell to the people that follow you on Twitter. You want to create a relationship. If you write or find articles that will benefit your followers tweet them. If you find something that you think your followers will like then tweet them. Links to YouTube videos or other helpful resources are good.

4. Your Tweets need to grab the readers attention like a headline or subject line. Show that you can grab people’s interest. Since you have a limited number of characters you can use you should shorten your links. We will discus programs that will help with your Twitter account in another tip.

5. “Share the Love” Re-tweet other people’s tweets and some will return the favor, which will expose you to other people who may then decide to follow you. When people do re-tweet your tweets then you should thank them. It only takes a minute to click a button and say thank you.

6. Reply to people’s tweets, give them a compliment or thank them for sharing. These people may also decide to send you @ messages, which will also make their followers aware of you. Remember that you are part of a community and you can build valuable relationships.

7. Follow all of Twitter’s rules about following and un-following. Don’t become too aggressive or your account will be suspended. Try to keep to a 1 to 1.5 ratio.

8. Don’t be known as a spammer. If it is your intention to use Twitter to market to people it is recommended that you only have one marketing Tweet in every 10 Tweets. If all you do is try to sell people something, they will stop following you. Doing nothing but marketing tweets could get you labeled as a spammer, which could result in being banned. Remember Twitter is about being social first and marketing, if you do any marketing, second.

9. If you are using Twitter to market then look into software to do your Twitter work for you. There is one free website that can really help you use Twitter with more efficiency, Hootsuite.com. This service will submit your Tweets to a variety of sites for you. You will also be able to schedule your tweets so you can take your time to set up a day’s worth or more of tweets.

10. Software for automating Twitter is becoming more and more prominent and these programs will help you save a lot of time by finding specific followers for you based on keywords in their bio or even their associations within Twitter. This software will automate a lot of the manual tasks you would normally have to spend a lot of time doing. This way you won’t spend your time opening and clicking on the links of hundreds and thousands of emails. You can schedule tweets and much more. Review a number of these programs, automate Twitter and save your time.

Simple Basic Twitter Marketing Strategies You Can Apply Immediately

Simple Basic Twitter Marketing Strategies You Can Apply Immediately

Twitter has become part of our social routine to update, share information and use as a tool to announce an idea, opinion, thought, experience, share news and to open up, giving the receiver the chance to join into the ‘conversation’. So, it is an effective way to get a stream of traffic to your primary online business, but you need to tweet the right marketing strategy.

Searching through the Twitter search allows you to find ‘niche’ prospects by keywords which are related and you can follow. Tweeting about specific topics and exchanging thoughts also closes the gap between you and your prospect. But pitching too early in any social media arena, even in Facebook can turn people off quickly, so you need to establish the right identity first.

Be transparent when you introduce yourself, share your personal thoughts, opinions, goals and life aspirations. When you open up to others and say who you really are, people begin to let their guard down and connect with you on a personal level. It is due to human nature that we truly connect with an inner person, not just their facade. It is about your personal branding and social personality that will link you to others.

Tweet funny moments during your day or perhaps share a joke with others, after all humor is a great way to break the ice. Tweet a contagious Youtube video and start a conversation perhaps. Twitter is also a place where people ‘lounge and relax’, not a place where everything is all about being professional. So, feel free to tweet what you think is crazy.

Posting powerful quotes is another great way to project the ‘thinker’ in you. It sets a positive image and portrays you as a ‘leader’ which will motivates others to follow you. Quotes could be written by famous figures or you can write your own quotes that you truly believe in.

Be charming when you deal with people. Treat them the same way you would want them to treat you. Being polite goes a long way towards establishing a good connection with people.

Also, do not be afraid to express your views and let others see the way you are, but do so diplomatically. After all, keeping an open mind by letting others know there is an alternative point of view, may in fact, win more people over to your way of thinking.

Finally, whatever you do, never be pushy to your prospect. The more you ‘push’, the more they will be pushed away. Be interested and curious in what others say. Engage them in a circle of conversation. Listening is also golden. By listening you will better understand and develop a greater insight into your prospect.

Using Twitter as a tool to draw in your prospect and market your primary online business should be fun and effective. What’s more, it is free and easy to meet new people this way, not to mention, be ethical and practical.

Here’s tweeting to your success!

“SPAM your followers and you will lose them!”

How To Increase Your Google Rank In 5 Simple Steps

Throughout this article im going to use some terminology you may not be familiar with.

Inbound link – Theses are one way links coming into your website

Outbound link – Theres are one way links that are leaving your website

Cross Links – These are link exchanges, eg you link to site A and site A links back to you

Page Rank or PR – This is on a scale of 1-10 and is how Google measures how important your website is

SEO or Search engine optimization is key to driving traffic to your website from search engines. People often wonder how to get those coveted 1-10 ranks for your keywords, but struggle in doing so. The first and most important step in obtaining those rankings is to target specific key phrases. Its better to target a specific phrase than an individual word, as competition for the individual words is very high and usually dominated by massive businesses.

1) Check out your competitors

For example, lets assume your business sells computers. It would be an impossible task to optimize your site for the keyword “computer” or “computers”. If you do a Google search for ‘computer’ you will see there are 1,330,000,000 results and the top ranking sites include apple and dell to name a few. You will never get into that top 10 list, there is simply to much competition.

2) So, what do I do?

Have a look at your website and ask yourself what do you sell? Is it computers specifically built to play games? If so you should try “custom gaming pcs”. This search term returns 413,000 results much easier to beat than the previous 1,330,000,000 results and the number 1 spot only has 53 inbound links. This should be fairly easy to beat and take their precious number 1 spot.

Before we start looking at how to build links, you need to make sure that your website has being optimized for your chosen keywords. I recommend a piece of software called seo elite that can be purcahsed from seoelitedirect (google it).

3) Checking out competitors inbound links

If you havent purchased SEO Elite which has this superb feature built in. I will show you how to check out your competitors links, the long way.

install the Google toolbar on your browser. Type your keyword into the search (in this example ‘custom gaming pcs’) and then click on options then more tab and tick the page info box. Simply click on the blue circle icon with an I in it and then choose ‘Backwards links’. This will show you a sample of the incoming links a page has, as you can see the #1 spot has 53 inbound links.

4) Make friends with other websites

Look at each inbound link the #1 spot has, see if each page is relevant to your website, it probably is! Browse around the site and find a way to contact the webmaster, there is usually an email address somewhere. Simply contact the webmaster and ask if they would like to trade links with you. Take not of the green bar on Google tool bar, this tells you the Page rank of the page. Links from sites with higher PR are better than links from sites with low PR.

Do this for every site that is linking to the number 1 site for your keyword. Then do it for spot number 2, number 3, number 4 and so on. Some webmasters will just ignore your email, dont get disheartened, there are plenty more links out there waiting for you! If a webmaster refuses to trade links, thank him gracefully.

5) Results

After doing the above for a couple of weeks, Google will re-index their rankings and you will jump up the search rankings. It can take a few months for your page rank to be updated though so dont worry about that. The more links you build, the higher you will rank. The more you put in the more you get out of it.

I strongly suggest you invest in some SEO software. Personally I swear by SEO elite (there are others out there, IBP for example) and it gives you a serious edge over your competition, perfectly optimizing your website for your chosen keywords! Not to mention the amount of time it will save

6 Quick and Simple Ways to Dominate Google Rankings!

The reason Google is the most successful search engine in the world is because they provide the best search results; pages ranked by tangible value. That tangible value is a combination of content and links, with links being the more important factor (they assume any pages linking in will only link to good content or risk their own ranking.)

Here are a few tips that will help you take full advantage of Google’s love of linking…

1.) Link Deep and with Relevance

So why is deeper better and what’s this about relevance? Google figured out that a link to a homepage is only good if that homepage has the information the visitor needs. If a person clicks a link for “amazing chocolate chip cookie recipe” and ends up on the home page, which has nothing of the sort, Google discounts it as a wasted link. On the other hand, if the link leads to the page containing info on the “Amazing Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe,” even five levels deep, the link has huge value to the visitor and to Google.

Want some proof? You already have it if you’ve ever used Google’s AdWords pay per click service. They will not even accept PAID links to pages that are not the most relevant for their visitors, regardless of what you are willing to pay per click. Now that’s saying something!

2.) Use Absolute Links Internally

It sounds complicated but it’s not. Absolute links are those with a fixed full URL. There’s another kind, called “relative” links that skip the first part of the domain and remain “relative” to the file structure. Let’s take a look at the difference…

Here’s the absolute link to the Google Ads page from Google’s homepage: “http://www.google.com/intl/en/ads/”

Here’s what it might look like as a relative link: “./intl/en/ads/”

Long story short; absolute links help your SEO efforts and relative links don’t.

3.) Use Keywords in Anchor Text

Use relevant keywords in your link anchor text (that is the text within the hyperlink.) Forget about “Click Here” like you see on so many sites. Not only does that not help your ranking, it actually lowers the relevancy of your real keywords because Google believes that if a word is important enough it will likely be used as part of a link to get the visitor where they want to go.

4.) Follow the 1% Solution

Make no more than 1% of your page text into links (both outbound and internal.) That is, if you have 500 words on the page there should be no more than 5 text links total. And don’t overuse the same keyword text for the links. So if you have three mentions each of three different keywords, try to use each just once in a link. Then use similar text for any remaining links.

Example: If “chocolate chip cookies” is your main keyword phrase you might use “chocolate chip cookies” as the anchor text for one link and then “my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe” for another link.

It’s also a good idea to use 10 Links Max per page whether you have 1,000 words or 10,000 words on that page.

5.) Add a Link Failsafe

This is really simple and almost nobody does it. Links get broken more often than we like. Sometimes it’s because we moved a page and sometimes it has nothing to do with anything we consciously did (especially with blogs.) The solution is to create a custom 404 page (Page Not Found) that looks just like any other page on your site and has a simple note like “We’re sorry we cannot find the page you are looking for. However, if you love cookies of all kinds we think you’ll find exactly what you want by clicking on one of the following links…” Then of course you have a navigation system for them to follow.

6.) Get the Best Links Possible

This is extremely important yet often overlooked because it can be such a difficult and time consuming job. If you take nothing else away from this article, please take this… Finding the best possible inbound links is the single most important thing you can do to make the number one spot on Google.

Here are three tips to help minimize your time and effort while giving you results SEO experts charge an arm and a leg for.

A.) Get listed in directories.

Submit your site to the top directories like Jayde.com and DMOZ.org. Once they link to your site you will have great relevant inbound links and some instant credibility with Google.

Here are some great free directories in order of value, starting with the best… dmoz.org, jayde.com, webworldindex.com, turnpike.net, and directoryvault.com. Yahoo is important but charges $299 for commercial site inclusion.

B.) Use “Special Commands” to do the legwork for you.

The best linked sites can easily be found with a simple search command called “allinanchor:” Here’s how to use it. Go to Google and type in “allinanchor:keyword goes here” (no quotes and no space after the colon.) Now hit Enter and you’ll see the sites that have the highest relevancy for keywords used in anchor text. Look for any that you know are competitors and outrank your site.

Now take the URL for any of these and use this command “link:www.theirdomain.extension” (again with no quotes and no space after the colon.) This will show you all the sites linking in as well as internal pages linking back in.

In short, these two special commands give you an inside look at exactly how the competition does what it does with the results they get. This is huge!

C.) Use good SEO software whenever possible.

If you can afford to spend one or two hundred dollars to save huge amounts of time and get professional results, it’s well worth it. Like many SEO professionals whose livelihood depends on results, I’ve been using SEO software to get top search engine placement for years. The best ones not only help you identify great link partners but will even help you contact them and make sure they don’t cheat you in any way. I use SEO Elite (http://www.SEOeliteWeb.com) and am still amazed by all it can do.

If possible, get a tool that also does rank checking and reporting. Once you begin you’ll want to check rankings every so often and an automated tool will save you a ton of time. Oddly enough I bought SEO Elite primarily for rank checking then discovered it was worth its weight in gold as linking tool as well. So whatever tool you use, get as much out of it as you can. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Master Google in Three Simple Steps

I got into search engine optimization back in 1998. Of course back then SEO was a lot simpler than today. All the tricks like keyword spamming and invisible key phrases worked like a charm. Better still, little tricks like these were acceptable. Not anymore.

Nowadays most of the “good old ticks” don’t work and the majority will get your pages banned. This is great news for you. Over the next few minutes I’ll show you how to make Google absolutely LOVE your web pages and help you jump to the top!

This is all you need to know… Search engines today place 90% or more of their ranking priorities on content and links. Keywords are still important, but more so in the text of your pages than in any sort of META tags.

Simple, right? It really is. The first step is to find the best keywords and place them just right in your web page text. Next you need to get great inbound links. And finally, you need to monitor your progress closely (and that of your competition.)

Part 1: How to Find the Best Keywords

Google gets more searches than any other search engine so let’s peek into their database. Check out https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and type in any keyword or phrase you can think of that you believe your target audience is looking for. Not only will it give you tons of data on that and related keywords, it will also provide “Additional Keywords to Consider”, which is a section at the bottom of the page.

BIG TIP; Try to use specific keyword phrases whenever possible. Let’s say you have a web-page dealing with floral delivery. Instead of just the word “flowers”, which has 233,000,000 competing pages on Google, try “send flowers”, which has 1/10th the number of competing pages. Better still, think like people speak (I.E./ I’m sending flowers to my mom.) As you would soon see, many more people are searching for “sending flowers” than “send flowers” and here’s the best part; “sending flowers” has less than 1% of the competing web pages as the search term we started with, “flowers”. Now that’s impressive! You have an advantage over about 99.5% of your competitors with just that single tip.

Now take the top three or four keywords (and keyword phases) and list them in order for best to second best and so on.

Part 2: How to Develop the Best Possible Content

Content is king! If you take nothing else away from this article, make sure you take this. Producing search engine friendly, optimized real-person content is key to your success. Today’s search engines can read a page just like a human would. And thanks to natural text algorithms, the can easily tell if you are writing your pages for real people or just trying to get better ranking. With this tip, you can do both!

First, call a good friend and describe exactly what you want to tell your web visitors. Now write it down, word for word, as close as you can remember it. If you can record it, that’s even better.

Now go back through your text and fit your top keyword as close to the beginning of the first sentence as possible. Now place your number two keyword someplace else toward the beginning of your first paragraph. If possible, try to get your third keyword into the end of your first paragraph or the beginning of the second paragraph.

Repeat this concept using only one of your keywords for each of the next three paragraphs. Remember to try to make it a natural fit in the first sentence or two for each paragraph.

Now do the reverse for the very last paragraph. Place your lowest priority keyword near the beginning of the paragraph and then end the paragraph with the most important. This shows consistency.

Finally, try not to repeat any keyword more than three or four times per page. Make it flow naturally.

Part 3: How to Get Great Links and Monitor Your Site

Having quality inbound links can account for more than 75% of you search engine optimization success. Getting these links is the crucial step that will get you over the top. Next you need to monitor your progress and your site’s status (how search engine really see it). This will not only tell you not just where you are, but with practice, where you are likely to soon be. In the old days, we used to do all link work and monitoring by hand – and it took a long time (I averaged about 16 hours per week – per site!) My advice to you is to find a good SEO tool and let it do the work for you. If you get the right product, it’s the best money you’ll ever spend.

I used WebPosition Pro for a couple years but switched to SEO Elite because it has automated linking, which I find to be the most time-consuming aspect of SEO. Both are excellent products for tracking and reporting however.

#1 Pick: SEO Elite http://www.SeoEliteWeb.com Cost = $167 (lifetime free upgrades and no annual fees) My Results: 121 top 5 rankings on Google in three weeks – Mostly 1’s and 2’s. Top Features: Finds best link partners; Automates link process; Provides great Site Monitoring Comments: I bought SEO Elite in 2005 and have used every upgrade – never spending another dime. I retired my other three programs after using this for just three months.

#2 Pick: WebPosition http://www.webposition.com Cost = $389 WebPosition Pro or $149 Standard (plus $99 per year subscription fees for either) My Results: 44 top 5 rankings in Google in eight weeks – Mostly 3’s and 4’s. Top Features: Site Monitoring; Great reporting; Site Critic Comments: I stopped using WebPosition because there were no automated linking capabilities. I did however really like the reporting.

Now you’re ready. Good luck!

A simple guide to search engine marketing (part one)

Search engine marketing is by far the most efficient and effective way to advertise your business. With over 86% of internet users using Google as their search engine, the need for your business to show on the first page of Google has never been greater.

Many people are unaware of search engine marketing and just take for granted the results that appear when they search for something on a search engine such as Google.

However, search engine marketing seems to defy to current doom and gloom of the recession. Think about this:

“The average Britain spends 164 minutes online everyday, compared with 148 minutes watching TV”

Over half the world’s population now has access to the web and nearly 90% of them find what they’re looking for using search engines. 36% of people think that the result at the top of the first page is the market leader and 80% of people make their choice from first page listings alone. With over 21 billion web pages wanting a first page position how can you get your website on the first page.

This is called search engine marketing and I have listed a few techniques and tips to get you started with optimising your website to rank well on a search engine. Remember that this is a basic guide to help to you on your way.

Link building

First we have to look at how search engines rank a website and decide which order to list them. The simple (very very very simple) version is, Google changed everything the way many search engine rank. The initial creators of Google (Larry Page and Sergey Brin) wanted to create a search engine that could rank a website for quality and list them in order of quality to the user. The way they decided to rank a website was to count how many other websites link to it. If other websites link to it then it must be good. So, essentially links mean votes. Like I said, this is the very simple version and there is so much more to it than this but it is a great place to start as it holds the most importance.

See who links to you and then see who links to your competitors and try to muscle in on some of their action. Simply go to yahoo.co.uk, then in the search box type “link:yourcompetitor.com”. This will bring up a list of websites linking to your competitors website. Then contact them and ask them to link to you too. Don’t be stingy. Make sure you have links going out from your website. Important though that you link to high quality websites, i.e. If your website is a property website, have links to the relevant governing bodies, Wikipedia or the largest property portals. Search engines will see your site as being a good place to get good content. Submit your website to online directories. This can be very boring and takes hours. But once you have had your site accepted in to a directory. You’ll have a link back to your website. Remember. The more the better. Subscribe to forums in your niche. You can include a link in your signature straight to your website. Remember though. Do not spam on a forum. Forum users will not like it and the moderator will probably kick you off. If you use a forum properly though you will find it quite engaging. Read blogs relating to you niche market. This is very educational as well as beneficial for link building. Read the blog then leave a comment about that blog. Don’t forget to include a link to your website though. Just don’t make it too obvious.

Social Media (web2.0)

“Facebook”, “YouTube”, “Flickr”, “Myspace” – These are all social media websites. They provide a means for people from all over the world to join online and share information. The way in which people communicate vary though. “Flickr” allow people to upload photos and share them with other users or even comment on pictures uploaded. “Youtube” allow people to upload videos etc. The number of people visiting these websites to share information is in the millions. So maybe you could use these social communities to spread the word about your website. Social media is a great way to connect with hard to reach people that share the same interests. There are a number of ways to do this.

Make your content interesting enough for people to want to view it. Then, unlike search engine optimisation, change the content often, This will make people want to keep visiting you. Make it easy for people to tag or bookmark your new content. Bookmarking is very fashionable at the moment. The most popular way of doing this is by getting an “addthis” button due to its ease of use, however, there are many buttons available. Use more than just text in your site. Create a video and submit it to a video sharing website like “youtube”, Create a PDF version of your content and create an audio version too. Submit it to appropriate websites. Don’t forget the link back to your site. Blog.Blog.Blog then blog some more. The simple truth is that the majority of internet users love blogs. So do search engines. Create a blog and use it. A lot. Submit it to sites like “technorati.com”. If it is good enough people will link to you and then share and tell others about your writings. Make friends. The social media community, are very social and friendly. They will want to talk to you and ask you questions. Make sure you are polite and take time to answer any messages. Negative feedback spreads faster than positive feedback.

Pay Per Click

This is a method in which you pay to get people to your website. Have you ever done a search on Google and found there are two columns. The Colum on the right is called sponsored links. They are adverts from businesses. They do not pay anything for appearing there but they do pay when you click on the advert (pay per click). This is a very fast way to get people to your website but you do have to pay. I would recommend getting a pay per click company to help here. It will save you a lot of money. However, if you must have ago your self here are some very basic tips.

Budget. Make sure you create a sensible budget and stick to it. Don’t get in to a bidding war. Don’t just rely on pay per click as the be all and end all for your business marketing. PPC is great for promoting specific products and services very quickly but you always have to pay for the result. Analyze your cost per click and cost per acquisition closely. Then compare it to your other marketing activities. See which one works best. Remember that sites such as Google take into account the quality of your website content being marketed more than how much you are bidding. PPC is my favorite part of search engine marketing due mainly to the sheer speed of return on investment BUT make sure it is done properly other wise it can be devastating. Always have two ads running at the same time for each product but with different ad text. Google will use the most successful advert for you and show that advert more often, helping you gain more traffic. Change to poorest performing advert and see if it improves. Keep repeating. This will eventually lead to you having the best possible advert showing.

Search engine optimisation

Remember the two columns we just mentioned. Search engine optimization is the are of optimizing your website enough for Google to rank it on the left hand column. This list is ordered on how relevant your website is. And you don’t have to pay for these listings. Ever noticed how all the big companies appear at the top of the first page. Now we should as “which came first – The chicken or the egg?”. Search engine optimisation is generally split into two categories onsite optimisation and off site optimisation. The first, when done property is very important but it will only get you to the starting line. Offsite optimization is the race itself. A good search engine optimisation campaign should include all the search engine marketing techniques mentioned and when you really get into it you can learn the more advanced techniques. Below are a few basics.

Include your keywords in your domain, title, meta tags. The first thing a search engine spider will read is your domain name. i.e www.yourdomain.com. This doesn’t mean anything to a search engine so ideally use www.yourdomain.com/your-key-words, or even better www.your-key-words.com . Then the next part is your title. Don’t just have “home Page” or “Front Page”. I would have “your domain – your key words”. This also matches the domain name. Then repeat the same in your meta data. And sprinkle it throughout your web page. Keep it readable though. Make each page different. This helps search engines differentiate them and should lead to them indexing each of your pages separately. Get a site map and submit it to major search engines. Don’t pay for this service though. It amazes me that people actually charge for this. Just type into Google “sitemap” and you should be presented with website that will generate you a sitemap for free. Keep going. Older sites generally rank better than new sites. It is believed that older websites must be more reliable. As there is nothing we can do about this just focus your time on other offsite optimisation such as link building, social media optimization and if you just can’t wait, Pay per click. Search engine optimisation is a long term solution but boy is it worth waiting for. Validate your HTML code. Visit “validator.w3.org/ “.This will ensure that web browsers show your website correctly and helps search engine to index your site. There is no point in optimising your website if it doesn’t work properly.

Other useful tips

Get Google analytics. It is one thing having a website but you need to know what people are doing when they are on it. Google analytics is very comprehensive and FREE but it does not report in real time. Woopra however does report in real time. The choice is yours. Before doing anything else you should get one of these other wise how will you know your efforts are paying off. If you decide to use a company to undertake your search engine marketing campaign (recommended) make sure you choose your search engine marketing company wisely. Don’t just go on recommendation. It is going to be a long working relationship so the important thing is that you get on with them. Do your own research on the industry. Think twice about search engine marketing firms that say they can guarantee a first page listing in a short time, the methods they use WILL end up in your website being banned. BMW found this out the hard way.

Search engine marketing is not an easy option but when done properly will bring untold rewards.

This is by no means an exhaustive list but it will give people new to the concept a few things to get on with and research. Look out for more articles that will start to break the subjects down into more detail.

Google Advertising Report Reveals Simple, Little Known Method Works

Google AdWords puts your ads exactly where you want them: in front of potential customers, right when they re looking for your products or services. AdWords ads appear alongside or above the results on Google.com search results pages and on sites in the Google Network. Google AdWords provide an inexpensive advertising venue for businesses to advertise products or services to a targeted audience. Advertisers have the ability to control their budget, target their advertising based on keywords.

Google AdWords is a pay-per-click online advertisement service that lets advertisers post text ads for their sites targeted for specific keywords. These ads are shown in the “Ads by Google” banners seen all over the World Wide Web, and also as sponsored links on the Google search results pages. Google AdWords provide an easy method for people to place advertisements on the Google network via an online submission system. Google AdWords can place your ad in two places: in Google search and the content network. Google search provides results from searches that prospective customers run directly using www.google.com.

Google AdWords is a quick and simple way to advertise on Google and its ad partners, regardless of your budget. AdWords ads are displayed along with search results on Google, as well as on search and content sites in the growing Google Network, which includes websites like AOL, EarthLink, HowStuffWorks, & Blogger.

This may come as a SHOCK to you, but after all these years with Google selling pay-per-click advertising, some people admit that they’ve never paid for any, otherwise, paid-for advertising. In fact, last year alone, a group of marketers got over $26.7 million in pay-per-clicks free at all the TOP search engines like Google, Yahoo, Overture, etc.

Shortly after the Net’s release of pay-per-clicks and other paid-for search engine advertising, the a few people spotted a very simple way to eliminate ALL of his otherwise paid-for advertising expenses at search engines. But they didn’t bother to tell a single soul!

Another Google advertising method, AdSense, is used by publishers who wish to bring traffic to their websites.

Click through rates on the content network are typically much lower than those on the search network and are therefore ignored when calculating an advertiser’s quality score. Additionally, the more keywords you have, and the more specific the search phrases are, the more likely that your visitor will be truly interested in your product or service.

For example: ‘pda’ is a very general search term. Advertisers decide which queries their ads should match, and then Google decides on placement, i.e., which ads to show and in what order. Google determines placement by an auction; the auction not only considers what the advertiser will pay for the ad, but also its click-through rate, i.e., how often users click on the ad.

Admittedly, it has its limitations. Search engines are demographically skewed, and just because it works for Google customers doesn’t mean that it will work on Yahoo. Advanced targeting options, customizable ads and detailed reports available to AdWords also enable dealer clients to evaluate the benefits and performance of their online advertising efforts. Adding more keywords 9. Deleting non-performing keywords etc 10.

The BEST part of this secret is that it’s nothing illegal, and it doesn’t steal money from the search engines.
