According to foreign media reports, the U.S. leading IT magazine “eWeek” Web site published an article today that Google has just launched the search function will lead to real-time preview of Microsoft’s concerns and to out of 10 reasons for this judge.Following is the text of the article:

Google has just launched its search platform, called an “instant preview of search,” the new feature, which is the essence of the user when viewing the search results page to view the content provided in advance. On Google, to provide this service will help it improve the user experience, to help users more quickly find the specific content of the search. There is no doubt that this new service will help Google for a long time compared to other competitors to keep the search advantage.

Of course, in the search business, Google is still the biggest competitive threat from Microsoft. Microsoft’s platform will be in Yahoo’s help, in the U.S. search market share has reached 28%, while Google shares, compared with 65%. Google wants to do most of the events is to prevent Microsoft wantonly grabbing market share, and now, the introduction of instant preview search Google will not only provide an excellent opportunity to check, but also raised concerns about Microsoft. In fact, if Google did not innovate, Microsoft also had the opportunity to let go of a catch, but the current is the fact that, Google re-launched a real-time preview of search capabilities, all in all, Google search will lead to the strengthening of Microsoft’s concerns, the following is 10 kinds of reasons.

1, the success of Instant Search

In a few months ago Google launched an instant search function, although some have always wanted to know what role to play in the end of the function, now in fact, very significant function of this section. Google Instant Search allows users to enter a keyword in the search box almost at the same time that you can see search results related to such results much faster than in the past, of course, help to improve the efficiency of Google services.Microsoft’s will should still provide some suggestions to the user, which is likely to increase Microsoft’s market share in search is not much help.

2, Google Mobile Search has improved steadily

Google has integrated instant search capabilities into its mobile search service.Because of this, Google’s services are able to survive in the field of smart phones and development. Of course, Microsoft’s will should also have good mobile search services on mobile devices but many have used Google and Microsoft will be the users do not quickly find that Microsoft has been good service. These users that Microsoft products in the mobile phone can only make some simple search, and if adding more complex search, Google’s mobile search was much stronger. From the current perspective, in order to catch up with Google mobile search company level, will take time, but also would be very difficult.

3, Google search extended to mobile operating systems WP7

Google made a smart decision is to put its search platforms to Microsoft’s new mobile operating system being used WP7, of course, this move does not necessarily mean that Google search will dominate the whole WP7 system, but it is undeniable , this would mean that consumers can search in Microsoft products, choose another program to search for content. If these users find Google’s search platform better, then Microsoft is in the reign of its own mobile operating systems to be trouble.

4, meaningful and timely Preview

Google intends to provide its search results in real-time preview of search decisions of great significance, so that users can start using this feature, will feel this feature to help them find a lot of the desired information. Because real-time preview feature to automatically search Google search experience to become a part of, so users do not need to install this feature, or switch to the feature. Users will find that they enter a search keyword, you can use real-time preview feature. In the immediate help of the preview function, users can quickly browse to the page topic, without having to open the link target page, which of course will give the user save a lot of trouble, greatly improve the user experience.Under the present circumstances at least, Microsoft has still not real-time preview of new features in Google’s response.

5, will be non-brand recognition

Microsoft’s search platform will be one of the important issues facing the need to be addressed: the brand recognition. Google almost synonymous with search, the typical case is that users will call other people “Google” some of the content, not to mention “Search.” Will be branded on the lack of such recognition, it is not just a large number of users are using search platform, so the visibility is difficult, as Google did. This well-known differences in the development of course contributed to the momentum of Google, which will be hurt.

6, correlation is still not a strong point will be

For most of the search terms will be the performance is acceptable, but sometimes some cases, users need to search some more complex themes, will be often require users to provide more detailed keywords, and Google search function will power a lot. If Microsoft can not promptly improve the search algorithm will be, then after the release of new features in Google, which of course worried about the prospects for the future.

7, not just search

Search for the Google and Microsoft will be the future are extremely important factors, but that does not mean that the search is the only factor. On the contrary, some accompanying services, including Google Maps, Google news and other services will help Google maintain its market leading position. Microsoft, of course, there are some other services, including maps, will be, but these services are not able to effectively attract users to participate, so this will continue to harm Microsoft, unless Microsoft can find a lot of excited users to use their service programs.

8, Google search advertising business strong

Microsoft’s real concern was the point is, it may be completely kicked out of online advertising. Google has proven time and again, the search of successful development of its advertising business is extremely important. Microsoft, of course, know this, of course, is its advertising platform to build their own one of the important reasons. However, Google’s AdWords and AdSense search advertising industry remains an important platform, which is precisely why Google ads through a lot of the reason for the profit, while Microsoft is still being hard to catch up.

9, the mobile advertising concern

When Google acquired the mobile advertising AdMob to support measures, the Microsoft headquarters sounded the alarm. AdMob is the leader in mobile advertising, through the right steps, Google will be able to effectively search and related applications by moving the program to profit from advertising and give Microsoft more face difficulties. The fact that is the case, Google in mobile advertising more powerful, Microsoft will be more difficult.

10, Microsoft’s lack of funds advantage

Microsoft used a variety of funds, in a bid to multiple areas of IT industry to establish their own dominance. Microsoft is investing heavily in Office, Windows, IE, etc., and is now investing the search business, but Microsoft’s money advantage is not in the search field in a leading position, because Google is facing in the field such a strong enemy, which is enough to make Microsoft worried . Microsoft’s investment in the field number in the search if you can not follow the example of Google, then it should be focused on creating innovative measures, but for now, Microsoft is not much in the search for innovation achievements.

Google Moves Toward Real-Time Search with Caffeine

Google Moves Toward Real-Time Search with Caffeine

Google’s search index has just received a big boost of energy – literally. This week, Google launched its newest solution to improve search, a system called Caffeine. Caffeine has overhauled Google’s search algorithm and indexing process, giving users the freshest and most up-to-date search results possible. It’s a breakthrough for Google, setting it well ahead of the curve and far in the lead of competitors like Bing and Yahoo.

Prior to Caffeine, Google’s search index was only updated every 30 days, with newer results stored in a cache for later use, instead of being fully indexed. News stories and blog updates, although updated and indexed much faster than normal searches, were still a bit delayed. For regular users relying on Google for the occasional personal search, this process didn’t have much of an impact on their results. But for heavy users demanding up-to-date results, the delay could be frustrating. Caffeine is bringing Google as close to real-time search as it can, with indexing done in seconds, rather than days or months. Users will literally see results that say “Updated seconds ago,” rather than hours ago. Because of this, results will not only be as recent as possible, but more relevant to the initial search as well.

Google has taken into account the rate at which Web content is produced, and responded efficiently with Caffeine. In a post announcing the new system on the Official Google Blog, Software Engineer Carrie Grimes wrote,

“Content on the web is blossoming. It’s growing not just in size and numbers but with the advent of video, images, news and real-time updates, the average webpage is richer and more complex. In addition, people’s expectations for search are higher than they used to be. Searchers want to find the latest relevant content and publishers expect to be found the instant they publish.”

What does this mean for Google users? Overall, content won’t get buried. Because Caffeine extends to every kind of Google search, breaking news stories, new blog posts, videos, and photos will stand an equal chance of being found by users, and Caffeine will make it easier for Google to find the content. Even better, users may have entirely new results with each search – a big plus if you’re following a hot news story, or an event happening across the country.

The Real-Time Content

The Real-Time Content

After a brief purgatory linked to the explosion of the Internet bubble in early 2000, came the time for web 2.0. Wikipedia, MySpace, YouTube, Dailymotion, Facebook …

With these new sites acclaimed by the Internet, a new dimension, a stowaway was invited without being noticed: the weather.Essential component of our life and social activities, the time is now present on the Internet and fundamentally changes the purpose of consumption.

Creating a blog automatically causes the release date and an associated archive. Can not cheat the pace of publication must be submitted under penalty of seeing his blog look like a fallow funded by Europe. Gradually users find the discipline to which the media are subjected and which reflect their vocabulary; Journal of 13h or 20h, morning, chronic daily, weekly or monthly.

The RSS gradually impose their rhythm in the world of web and new search engines dedicated to appear blogs, Technorati and Google Blog Search, with features filter dates.
Meanwhile companies timid wonder, does should be blogging and if so who has the right to blog. Some still think, some tentatively trying adventure.Too late…

“The time for blogging was probably too slow for the current digital revolution, a new trend is emerging: the actual time (real-time Web) popularized by Twitter. With Twitter, the Web is like New York,he never sleeps (sic)!
In “real life”, the company is familiar time, invoice 90 days, to meet the deadline of tender, payment of wages, yield management are all vital functions of the company .. Innovate before other produce as quickly as possible, respecting timing of project, program the launch of a product, publication of the balance sheet, dealing with annual rates of consumption reflect the business’ ability to articulate its business around time constraints.
Yet on the web, it is the users who have become masters of time.

Automakers up with users who take their spyshots camouflaged prototype crossed the detour route unlikely. Rumors of new products inflame fansboys who do not hesitate to blow photoshop to offer their visions of “fakes”.

Products sold are not already commented on Amazon, as Seven of Microsoft or the chronology of an event is not always identical between sites, and the death of Michael Jackson was announced on Twitter when traditional media relations only after hospitalization a heart attack.

The real time is nevertheless a great asset to the company, first to take the air time, the famous popularized by Google Zeitgeist (www.google.com / zeitgeist).Listening to the consumer while what is said in real time on its products is available at the company.

To take advantage of it as Twitter, blogs, reviews, recommendations, provide the perfect place to detect future trends and assess the relationship to the consumer with the brand.
Certainly we must not confuse speed with haste, and under the pretext of following the fashion open a “chirping” (tweet) without thoughtful strategy but include this new dimension of real time in its overall web strategy.

New Real-Time Business Search From Masterseek

New Real-Time Business Search From Masterseek

Masterseek has recently launched its long awaited real time business search. The new search function allows users to find all products and companies in the world in real time and instantly added to the Masterseek database.

The award-winning business search engine Masterseek is now faster, have more company data and fully customizable to your online business. Masterseek gives you a unique opportunity to showcase your company and its products to business professionals from all over the world.

Masterseek Corp., one of the world’s largest business search engines, is about to offer more than 10% of its authorized stocks to a range of foreign investors. This was announced last Monday by Rasmus Refer, founder of Masterseek.

Masterseek is already in discussion with a number of strategic investors and Venture Capital companies, in advance of a public listing, which Rasmus Refer says will happen either at the end of this year or at the beginning of 2011

Masterseek is looking at quotation on Nasdaq or the London Stock Exchange.

“We offer more than 10% of our company in order to attract a strong partner,” Rasmus Refer said when asked about the size of their offering. “We hope it will happen, but, in the final analysis, it will be depend on the result of our negotiations.”

When asked about the timing of this prospectus, Rasmus Refer said, “We may have to wait until the end of this year or sometime next year. We need to wait for the right moment on the market.”

Masterseek had hoped for a quotation this year, but the management team has become more conservative, especially in regard to the timetable for a prospectus program that is expected to reach the m mark.

Still, there is no decision taken regarding how the stocks will be quoted, but everything points at Nasdaq or AIM in London.

Rasmus Refer is convinced that Masterseek will be in a position to compete with Google and Yahoo! in the field B2B searches. The latter have also begun to take a precise look at this area of business.

“We are fully prepared. We are confident about the development of our competitive skills. We offer a supplement to the major search engines. There are infinite opportunities to create a niche for ourselves in the market,” said Rasmus Refer.

Website Optimisation: The Impact Of Blended Real-Time Search So Far

Website Optimisation: The Impact Of Blended Real-Time Search So Far

Despite the initial hype surrounding the introduction of blended real-time search into internet search engines, many experts have begun to question its value to website optimisation.

Real time search has been widely criticised as a cause of SERP clutter, making pages appears chaotic and leaving the user struggling to decide which links may actually provide the information they are after.

And a recent survey by One Up Web showed the majority of internet users ignore real-time search results altogether.

Dave Winer, blogger at Scripting News, suggests this is because it is “impossible” to convey much information in 140 characters.

“So when a search hits a tweet you get at most a soundbite, telling you something you probably already knew. When you search you’re looking for information you don’t have but want,” he writes.

Meanwhile, author and blogger Nick Carr has been compiling the Realtime Chronicles blog about attempts to orient the web, and particularly search, around postings on Twitter.

“Web 2.0 was supposed to bring us a creative outpouring of ’social production’,” he states. “Instead it’s tossed us into the rapids of instant communication.”

These ‘rapids’, according to Mr Carr, have created a plethora of bite-sized updates and alerts, with the internet’s search engine giants locked in “a fierce competitive battle to speed up the stream”.

However, blended real-time search also has its fans.

The integration of Facebook and Twitter into Google SERPS means users can now find accurate, up-to-the-minute information for many of their search queries, according to Sam Tilston, online marketing director at Zoombits.co.uk.

He added that companies must also step up their game when it comes to website optimisation.

Twitter can be used as part of an effective multimedia strategy, Mr Tilston said, so long as keywords are included in Twitter posts, accounts and descriptions to allow the feed to be “properly optimised for Google”.

How to get the best “real-time” stats for your blog or website

Everyone wants to know how many people are reading their blogs, and there are many many places where you can get “visitor counters” or “how many online” buttons, but the information you get from them is hardly accurate or in-depth.

Everyone, if they have any sense, uses google analytics for the big picture of your visitors, and the information given is truly amazing when you are looking at the global figures relating to your site. Where your visitors were directed to your website from, which country they live in, which pages they looked at, how long they spent on your site, etc. The range of figures is mindboggling, and for corporate reasons you should always have these figures around as they are a trusted medium in the web community.

But, if you want to actual know, right now, how many people are on your site, which pages they are looking at, etc, then i have no hesitation in recommending the little-known stats counter addfreestats.

This site will give you actual real-time facts about how many visitors are reading you blog RIGHT NOW, it will give you a list of which referring pages the last 50 visitors came from, which town in which country they come from, which page they landed on, how many other pages they visited (and which ones!).

They will also give you the usual total figures of how many visitors, how many unique visitors, how many pages visited, etc, but it such a good layout that i find i will write a story and then spend the next half-hour just looking at the visitors arrive!

There are thousands of other statistics available, probably too many to mention here, but i will highlight; The amount of visitors that clicked on your ads (exit pages), the most popular (no, not the most popular, ALL) the search terms that were typed into search engines to point them to your site, the average amount of time spent on-site and how many visitors in each hour.

I can see that i could go on for ages, but suffice to say that i highly recommend AddFreeStats to anyone who owns a website or blog. The best thing about addfreestats is that it is available via a small button on your home-page and of course it is totally FREE! The only downside is that you have to put up with a silly pop-up when you log-on, but that is a small price to pay for the information at your fingertips.

And just to clarify, i am NOT being paid to write this!

Email Overload – Is there a real-time solution?

People have changed the way they communicate in numerous ways since the past 50 years, of which e-mail is a significant one. Electronic mail is a natural use of networked communication technology that developed along with the evolution of the Internet. Network capable email was developed for the ARPANET shortly after it’s creation, and has now evolved into the powerful email technology that is the most widely used application on the Internet today.

Research has shown that people actively use e-mail to maintain core social networks, particularly when alters live at a distance. Today a lot of Social Networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter have changed personal communications from emails to online communities, but still use emails as a mediating factor. For businesses, however, e-mail is extensively used as the widely accepted, first board electronic communication medium. E-mail is very simple to understand and like postal mail, e-mail solves two basic problems of communication:

Logistics- E-mail provides a way to exchange information between two or more people with no set-up costs that is generally far less expensive than physical meetings or phone calls. Synchronization – With real time communication by meetings or phone calls, participants have to work on the same schedule; with e-mail each participant may control their schedule independently.

Most business workers today spend two or more hours of their working day on e-mail: reading, ordering, sorting, ‘re-contextualizing’ fragmented information, and writing e-mail. The use of e-mail is increasing due to increasing levels of globalization—labor division and outsourcing amongst other things. E-mail can lead to some well-known problems:

Loss of Context: which means that the context is lost forever; there is no way to get the text back. Information in context (as in a newspaper) is much easier and faster to understand than unedited and sometimes unrelated fragments of information. Communicating in context can only be achieved when both parties have a full understanding of the context and issue in question. Information overload: E-mail is a push technology —the sender controls who receives the information. Convenient availability of mailing lists and use of “copy all” can lead to people receiving unwanted or irrelevant information of no use to them. Inconsistency: E-mail can duplicate information. This can be a problem when a large team is working on documents and information while not in constant contact with the other members of their team. Overloaded Inbox: If we don’t vigilantly organize our inbox we generally fall into the problem of full inbox and it becomes difficult to send further emails. We have to go back to the inbox and delete mails everytime this problem occurs, which happens quite frequently esp. with Outlook Buried emails: Due to icreasing Inboxes most of the times important emails that we intend to take action on or follow up seem to get buried deep down somewhere and we have to scratch our heads to search for that email

Despite these disadvantages, e-mail has become the most widely used medium of communication within the business world. A December 2007 New York Times blog post described E-mail as “a $650 Billion Drag on the Economy”, and the New York Times reported in April 2008 that “E-MAIL has become the bane of some people’s professional lives due to information overload.”

Is there a real way to deal with this? There are several articles on the web that educate us about goood email management practices. However, do our senders also follow those rules. Not necessarily.

The key to solve this problem is to get organized and there are some really good ways to do that. Some email providers are providing features like “Prioritization of Emails” as a real-time solution. Yahoo has an application for automatic prioritization. There is also an Outlook plugin for Outlook 2003/2007 for automatic prioritization called Nubli. These softwares automatically prioritize your emails into high, medium and low so as to help you focus your attention on each segment as per your time availability.

Some software providers like Nubli go a notch higher and provide you with features like automated tagging which goes a long way into automatically organizing your inbox without you making a consciouss effort to do so. Nubli also has a dashboard to give you an overview of whats happening to your inbox so that you can easily combat the problem of buried emails mentioned above.

On the other hand Google is coming up with Google wave to deal with this problem which they say is a combination of Gtalk, Google Docs, Gmail and some other Google apps to do away totally with emails.

The above solutions are the latest developments in combating email overload. Start using these solutions as your inbox is only going to increase with time. Get a grip of your inbox now before it grips you!!

Google and Bing Face Off with Real-Time Facebook and Twitter Social Search

As Google continues to topple Microsoft’s Bing in the area of online search, Microsoft showed us that they’re not backing down, and surprised the social media world with a major announcement on Wednesday: Bing will now feature “tweets” – and soon, Facebook status updates – in real-time as part of their search engine results.

Initial reactions were a bit negative, as users worried about their privacy, and why it was even necessary to include them in results in the first place. After all, there are already many Twitter-specific search engines that produce real-time and analytical results, such as Twitter’s own search feature. Twitter was quick to assure users that privacy settings could be adjusted accordingly, and also stressed the fact that not all tweets would be included in searches. Twitter creator @Biz wrote on the Twitter blog,

“Twitter is providing Bing access to the overwhelming deluge of public, real-time tweets rushing in from all around the world so they can help you find those that make the most sense right now. While Twitter currently presents tweets based simply on timeliness, Bing is experimenting with new solutions such as “best match.”

While the announcement has definitely generated more buzz and usage of Bing, the question still remains: how relevant will it really be? If you’ve ever used the Twitter search, either by keyword or hashtag, the results can be overwhelming, streaming in at hundreds or thousands of results each second. If this happens with the Bing searches, will it turn users away? Microsoft claims there will be a feature to sift out irrelevant results, by analyzing keywords, number of retweets, and more in order to produce the best information; just how well it will work is still to be determined. In the end, users who use Bing as a “decision engine” will definitely have more opinions to chose from in order to make their choice.

This new feature has the potential to be big, as long as it can actually add value. While it may be more convenient, and raw results are interesting to see, but without a purpose, it will slowly become irrelevant. There is more data than ever before, between Web sites, blogs, social media profiles and more. In the race to relevancy, it’s the one who can find a way to bring all of that information together in a useful, interesting, and easily accessible way who will ultimately cross the finish line first. In the eyes of most users, that “one” is still Google.

Just hours after the Bing announcement, Google went one step further and announced the new Labs feature of Social Search, which will not only pull in Twitter results, but those from other social media platforms as well (similar to how you now see Google News and Images results). Already ahead in…

Would A Real-time Advertising Engine Work For Internet Advertising Better Than Google?

I was just wondering your thoughts here, I had a thought as to wether advertising mixed with real-time search results such as from social networks like twitter or facebook could be massive in terms of advertising dollars enabling facebook & twitter to directly compete with a company such as a the likes of google in the online ad business through social ads. Would this be more relevant for consumers wishing to find exactly what they want by filtering search results through real-time and could this become a multibillion-dollar money maker?

Real-Time Consumer Tech Trend

Who wants to read yesterday’s news? It was this question that led to the decline in newspaper readership. Now, the question is, who wants to read this mornings news? The real-time trend is leading the next evolution in information technology. Here and now is the new rally cry ushering in the real-time movement.

Elements
Relevancy — It’s not just about having real-time information, it’s about making sense of it all. For instance, how does 250 Twitter results every second help me better understand the news? Consumers are looking to real-time tools that can analyze and sort information to make sense of it all.
Immediate — It’s not enough to just have Twitter real-time search. What about other news sources such as AP or NY Times? What about reviews or weather or traffic results? As more information becomes more immediate (think user-generated content via your mobile phone), expect real-time tools to surge in the consumer market.

Examples
Waze — Waze is a crowdsourced mobile map that provides real-time traffic information that launched initially in Israel and is making its way over to America. The one barrier to entry, writes Mashable, is the app only works as well as the amount of information to power it. Therefore, if adoption rates are low, so will the quality of information.
Social Search — Bing now has the ability to index all of Twitter’s content. Therefore, if you’re looking for more information about Halloween decorating ideas, you can turn to the Twitterverse for answers. And Google has also implemented social search, but instead of focusing on just Twitter, the search giant is digging into all of your social profiles to give users a broad…
