My Google Ranking – How To Easily Improve Your Rankings

My Google Ranking – How To Easily Improve Your Rankings

My Google ranking is what thousands of internet business owners want to know about. If this is something that you need to know, then you have to be aware of the ways that can be used to easily increase your rankings.

The following are the best ways for anyone to use to easily achieve this goal.

1. Website optimization also known as search engine optimization – When you have a website, you have to use website optimization to ensure that it will be noticed by Google. It is important to ensure that your website has been optimized using your main keywords so that the search engines will pick up your site for these.

The search engine will spider your site looking for keywords, so that they know where to place your site in their search results. If your site is not optimized for the search engines, then getting good rankings with Google will not be easy to do.

2. Back links to your site – Google is looking for links from other sites that point back to yours. You need to spend some time building as many back links as you are able to.

The more backlinks you have pointing to your site, the higher your Google ranking will become.

3. Add a blog – Is there a blog on your site? If you don’t, then you need to get one added right away. If you do have one already, then you need to take advantage of that and start using it to help you increase your rankings.

Google likes blogs since they are constantly updated using fresh content. If you have a blog on your website that you update on a regular basis using quality content that uses your keywords, then you will be able to easily increase your rankings.

4. Keyword rich content and informational – The content that you add to your website and blog needs to be keyword rich and informational. The keywords are important so that Google knows where you place you in their results.

The informational content is essential since Google will not put any site into their search results that allows junk to be put on their site since it won’t help anyone. So, you need to be sure that the content used on your site is informational and uses your keywords correctly because this will be noticed by this big search engine.

These are the best ways you can use to help you improve your Google ranking. My Google ranking and increasing it will be much easier for you now that you have this vital information in mind.

Keyword Optimization Tips For Top 10 Google Rankings

Keyword Optimization Tips For Top 10 Google Rankings

Keyword optimization is the one of the most crucial elements to receive top 10 rankings on Google. It is surprising to see how many search engine optimization campaigns today overlook these necessary fundamentals when attempting to target their chosen search term/s.

By reading this tutorial you will learn how to increase your website’s rankings for your chosen keywords. When attempting to conduct a successful SEO campaign, you need to incorporate the following nine tips:

Meta Tag Title
Meta Tag Description
Meta Tag Keywords
Your First 25 Words
Keywords Within Bold Tags
Placing Keywords In ALT Tags On Images
Keywords In H1-H6 Tags
Domain and/or URL Keywords
HTML Comments Containing Keywords
Keyword Density

These 10 SEO tips and more are explained in even more detail in our free seo ebook. Please be aware optimizing your keywords is only one part of a successful SEO campaign.

Meta Tag Title

If you have any experience in search engine optimization, you will know that your chosen keyword/s must be included in the title of your web document. Not only will this appear as the title of your website when a visitor views your website, it is also used as a clickable link and title on any search engine results. Make sure your title is no more than sixty characters in length otherwise most search engines will not include your full title in their results and place your most important keywords at the beginning. Ensure the title is appealing to potential visitors. Put yourself in the mind of a target visitor. If you were looking for a particular website, what title would make you more likely to click on the link? Sure, its one thing to have your website ranked #1 in the search results, but if your title is not appealing enough you may loose potential visitors! Make sure its placed in the header section of your coding.Your Website Title Here

Meta Tag Description

A Meta tag description is another important element for keyword optimization. The description of your website will play a vital role in securing that top 10 ranking youve been hoping for and should be a brief explaination of your website and what it can do for the searcher if they were to visit. It must also include your search term/s for effective keyword optimization and be no more than 160 characters in length otherwise not all the description may be included.

Meta Tag Keywords

Some say that Meta tag keywords are now useless, however they are still regarded as vital element of keyword optimization. Some search engines still use keywords when ranking their listings so it’s best to add them to your page. Make sure that the keywords you state within this section actually appear in your webpage. Otherwise you may be classed as a spammer and possibly banned from various search engines.

Keyword Optimization Of Your First 25 Words

It is essential that you display your niche keyword/s in the first 25 words of your website body content, preferably in bold. Search engines hold the first 25 words of your website in high regard so take advantage of it.

Keywords Within Bold Tags

Place your major website keywords in bold on your page. Search engines believe that by putting emphasis on these keywords they are important. Also place other important words in bold for proper keyword density. Remember to make sure you have the correct keyword density.

Keywords in ALT Tags

It is important to place your targeted keywords in the ALT tags of your images. The reason behind this is that search engines cannot read images. Therefore, by including this tag on your images, you are telling the search engine what the image is about. It is essential that you add this tag to every image on your website.

H1-H6 Headline Text

One of the most common SEO mistakes is not placing the desired keywords in H1- H6 HTML tags. The H1-H6 tags inform the search engine spiders that these words are important because they are mostly used for page titles or sections of your website. You will find that nearly websites ranked in the Top 10 listings will have used atleast one H1 tag as a bare minimum. Using H2-H6 is optional but still desirable. Remember to include additional words to make sure your keyword density is not affected.

Domain Name and URL Keywords

Keywords within your domain name and url can mean the difference between a number 1 ranking and a lower top 10 ranking. The best option would be to have your keywords in your domain name ie. Free SEO Analysis http://www.free-seo-analysis.com. However, this is not always possible. Another great way is to add your keywords in the url or page name ie. Keyword Optimization http://www.free-seo-analaysis.com/keyword-optimization.php. The dashes in between is not essential and is based on personal preference. It looks neater than to words clumped together and the search engines can still read the words. It also eliminates the possiblity of being listed under unwanted search terms.

HTML Comments Including Keywords

Another great way to improve your search engine rankings is to include HTML comments in your code. This will provide you with an opportunity to once again state your keywords and their importance. The search engines spiders will be able to read these comments and will see that in fact your keywords are pretty important if they are even in the comments section.

Keyword Density

Keyword density is the number of times a keyword or search phrase appears on a particular page divided by the total number of words on the page. This number is then multipled by 100 to provide a keyword density percentage. It use to be recommended that keyword density should be about 2%-3% but I have ceratinly seen pages ranking number 1 on Google where this certainly isn’t the case. However gathering keyword details and comparing them to well ranked websites can be a very time consuming process. I use Internet Business Promoter because it automatically calculates the keyword density of my webpage and then compares it to the average keyword density of the top 10 ranked websites on Google for my chosen keywords. It is an essential tool if you want to make a huge impact on the major search engines. Another great feature is the ability to generate a search engine optimiaztion report and even includes all the keyword optimization tips I have discussed in this article.

Speed SEO: The Fastest Method of Getting Page 1 Google Rankings Today

Speed SEO: The Fastest Method of Getting Page 1 Google Rankings Today

When I got started out in affiliate marketing, I began creating small affiliate websites and getting them ranked in Google to get traffic to my offers and my affiliate links. It was the most effective and cost-efficient way for me to get started at the time, and as a result I had to quickly find a way to get ranked in the search engines fast. After a lot of trial and error I discovered a basic approach that got me ranked quickly in Google and receiving traffic to my sites very swiftly. It is that approach that I am going to break down into 4 steps and some bonus tips for you in this article so that some of you out there can get started with your affiliate business as well.

Step 1

The first thing you need to do to make this method a success is do your keyword research. I use the Google Keyword tool to do this, and I do not care what others say, or what other products are out there on the market, the Google keyword tool is free and the most accurate I have ever used.

Generally I like to look for keyword that have at least 1,000 exact match searches for them per month. In terms of on page competition, I look for keywords that have websites on the first page of Google with less than 100 backlinks. Alternatively, I also look for keywords where the websites on the first page of Google have an average Pagerank of 2 or less. If the keyword fulfills all these criteria, then I am good to go. To assess the competition on the Google first page of search results a little faster, I like to use the SEO Quake Plugin for Firefox (it’s a huge time-saver).

Step 2

I then buy a domain name with the exact keyword in it. I only buy domains with.com,.org or.net as the extensions. If all these domains are taken, I add an extra word, letter or number at the end of the keyword phrase and the extension;.com. I do this because Google seems to be ranking domains higher in the search engines if they have the actual keywords in the URL. I don’t think it will always be like this, but whilst it is still the case, I have been capitalizing on this trend.

Step 3

Once I have bought this domain, I install a WordPress Content Management System and build my website using the WordPress platform. I add content to it gradually and incrementally over a week or two. I have an About page, a Contact, Privacy Policy and Earnings Disclaimer page (this is all god practice). I make about three or four posts. The last post that I make (the one that sits at the top of all the other blog posts) is a review of a product I am promoting which contains re-directed/cloaked affiliate links.

Step 4

Once all this is setup, I then start building links to the website through Forum posting, blog commenting, and article marketing. I do as little of this as humanly possible (as time is usually against me and I am super lazy). I build the links up nice and slowly so as it looks nice and legitimate to Google’s watching eyes! Once the domain and website is around 6 months old I start to build the back-links a little more aggressively.

Bonus Tips

- You should make sure you “ping” every blog post as and when you publish it.

- Try and make sure you have and are using the All-In-One SEO Plugin and the Google Sitemap plugin.

- It is also good practice to sign-up to and use the Google Webmaster Service and install Google Analytics on your site.

- Also make sure that the keyword you are targeting is at the start of the blog posts you make, and the articles you use to link back to your site with article marketing.

Improving Your Website Page Rankings – Dominating Google With Improved SEO Techniques

Improving Your Website Page Rankings – Dominating Google With Improved SEO Techniques

Visualize search engine optimization as being a popularity competition, and you have just become close friends with the prom queen.

Search engine optimization is simply utilizing resources as well as methods in making your site attain a number one position within the results of Google. Finding yourself on the first page and also in the top half of the page will make certain that your website will certainly generate public awareness of your sites existence and subsequently create more visitors – targeted visitors that could lead to probable revenue as well as business. Seo, or even web optimization on steroids is not going to get your web page up there straightaway. You will need time for search engine marketing to be effective. Seo is the foremost, most efficient method for getting major google search placement. It is also probably the toughest internet marketing art form to master.

Search engine optimization may be just one part of an online Affiliate marketing tactic, however it may be the primary element. It is the baseline. In a community where search properties are evolving, seo is definitely an constant, iterative practice.

Search engine optimization is reliant on understanding what Google, Yahoo and Bing etc. hunt for once they visit your site and also what customers search for when looking for your website. It is not necessarily about deceiving the search engines! Search engine optimization is not miraculous and it is not some hush-hush profession which has a secret handshake. The search engines prosper upon content material and back links. Without the two elements a web page is dead!

Keyword density is among the factors which is used to optimize an online site. Keyword density identifies the number of times a particular word or phrase is used with regards to the sum of the number of words within the page. Keyword density is the measure of how many times a keyword shows up when compared to the remaining textual content in that zone. The zones consist of: title, meta keywords, meta description, plain content (text), h1, h2, h3, bold, italics, underlined and domain name. Search engines like google evaluate the written text for pertinent keywords and phrases, among other considerations, plus rank the web page accordingly.

Sites which get a ranking close to the top in their niches are likely to possess excellent keywords and phrases located through the entire web site, but that is only one component of this formula. The very best websites also have a lot extra going for them, such as outstanding content, great meta data in addition to a good number of inward bound links all relative to the material on the webpage. Sites which might be new and are only starting must target acquiring incoming links. This is part of what exactly Google uses to rank sites within search results.

Back link building is an continuing process in Search engine optimization. Links to your website from other sites gives google bots more “food” to munch on. Link popularity refers to the number of back links a web site obtains coming from outside sites but does not take into consideration the actual level of quality along with context of inbound links. In addition to link popularity, the age of an internet site and the domain name of your website play a role in the rankings.

Ranking on page one of Google will not happen overnight. SEO is difficult to master, however, utilizing innovative new programs, new SEO techniques and tools will greatly improve your success and therefore should be thoroughly investigated.

How to Dominate Google Rankings; Easy as 1, 2, 3!

How to Dominate Google Rankings; Easy as 1, 2, 3!

Search engine optimization has changed a lot over the years. What worked a few short years ago can get your site banned from Google today.

Actually, let me rephrase that… Search engine optimization tricks have changed a lot over the years. But in truth, good solid SEO practices have remained stable and work better today than in years past. Why better? Because so many others keep trying to win with tricks that Google hates. This leaves you to reap the rewards of methods that Google loves!

The most important thing to realize is that Google, and other popular search engines place 90% and MORE of their ranking preferences on content and links. Keywords are still important, but only in the content of your pages; not in META tags like the old days.

It’s that simple. And just as simple is how to accomplish that top ranking…

1.) First you need to find the best keywords and place them just right in your page’s content.

2.) Next you need to find, get and manage great inbound links.

3.) Last, you need to closely monitor your progress (and your competition!)

Goal 1: Find the Best Keywords

Let’s use Google’s own keyword database to see what search terms are best to target. Go to https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and enter any keyword or keyword phrase you think your future customers are looking for. Now get ready for a LOT of great results!

INSIDER TIP; Use specific and “long tail” keyword phrases whenever possible. One of my client’s is in national floral delivery. Here’s a real example of how my business partner and I put that business at number on Google with the perfect keywords…

The client had been paying per click for the term “flowers” and barely breaking even after spending tens of thousands of dollars per month in PPC costs. We not only gave him much better targetd keywords for his pay per click campaign, at one tenth the cost, but also made jim number one for his new primary keyword using the methods described later in this article. Before we go too deep however, let’s look at the new keywords and the logic used to get there…

Instead of just the word “flowers”, which has 233,000,000 competing pages on Google, we looked at what he really wanted to attract visits for. Although there are lots of possibilities, we will stick with just one example that saves him about ,000 per month in PPC expenses and gives him another 0,000 per month in profit. We first evaluated “send flowers”, which has 1/10th the number of competing pages. Then we asked him to try “think like people speak” (I.E./ I’m “sending flowers” to my mom.) As it turns out, a lot more people are searching for “sending flowers” than are searching “send flowers” and “sending flowers” has less than 1% of the competing web pages as the search term he started with, “flowers”. Now that’s impressive!

Use this method of keyword determination (get exact and use longer keyord phrases when appropriate) and you have will have an instant advantage over about 99% of your competitors.

Once you have your keywords selected, take the top three or four and list them in order for best to second best and so on.

Goal 2: Develop the Best Possible Content

Content is King! The ability to create search engine friendly web content, optimized for real people, is the key to your success. Modern search engines (especially Google) can read a page just like any person would thanks to natural text algorithms. Now Google can tell in nanoseconds if your web pages were pages for real people or just to get better ranking. With the following tip, you can easily do both!

Step A.) Call a good friend and tell him or her what you want to tell your web visitors. Then immediately write it down as close as you can remember it. If you can record the conversation it’s even better.

Step B.) Now simply review your text and place your top keyword as close to the beginning of the opening sentence or two as possible. Then place your next most important keyword someplace else toward the beginning of that same first paragraph. Try to get your third keyword into the last sentence or two your first paragraph or at the beginning of your next paragraph if it fits better.

Step C.) Now place just one instance of each keyword in the next few paragraphs, anywhere they fit well. So if you have six more paragraphs before the final, each keyword should be three times total (once in paragraph 1, twice in the remaining 6 paragraphs with one mention of a single keyword in each paragraph.)

Step D.) For the last paragraph, do the opposite of what you did for the first paragraph and place your least important keyword toward the beginning of the paragraph and your most important toward the end. This shows the search engine consistency of topic.

Step E.) Last but not least, don’t repeat any keyword more than four times per page and always let the text flow naturally.

Part 3: Get Great Links and Monitor Your Site

Getting and maintaining high quality inbound links typically accounts for more than 75% of today’s search engine optimization success on Google. Getting these links is the crucial step that will get you over the top and keep you there! But you also need to monitor your progress and your site’s status (not just ranking but how search engines REALLY see it). This will tell you more than just where you are but also where you are likely to be. Back in the day we did all link work and monitoring by hand. And I can telly you that it took a long time (My business partner and I spent about sixteen hours each week, per site!) My advice to you is to do what we did and find a good SEO tool that does the heavy lifting and time consuming work for you. Buying the right product is easily the best money you’ll ever spend on your site’s marketing and publicity.

As for products, there are some good ones out there. I used one called WebPosition Pro for a couple years. I ended up switching to another called SEO Elite because it has automated linking, which is the most time-consuming aspect of my SEO efforts. However, both are fantastic products for tracking and reporting.

Number 1 Pick: SEO Elite

http://www.SeoEliteWeb.com

Cost = 7 (lifetime free upgrades and no annual fees)

Personal Results: 121 top 5 rankings on Google in 3 weeks; Mostly 1’s and 2’s

Favorite Features: Finds the best link partners, including special “Authority” link partners that count for more with Google; Automates link process; Provides great Site Monitoring

Comments: I bought SEO Elite in 2005 and have used every upgrade (all are free.) I got rid of my other products since this one did a better job for me and does not have any ongoing fees.

Number 2 Pick: WebPosition

http://www.webposition.com

Cost = 9 WebPosition Pro or 9 Standard (plus per year subscription fees for either)

Personal Results: 44 top 5 rankings in Google in eight weeks; Mostly 3’s and 4’s.

Favorite Features: Site Monitoring; Great reporting; Site Critic

Comments: I stopped using WebPosition because there were no automated linking capabilities and did not want to continue paying the per year in ongoing fees. I did however really like the reporting.

That’s about it. Now you’re ready. Good luck!

Dominate Google Rankings Quick and Easy!

Dominate Google Rankings Quick and Easy!

Does dominating Google rankings quick and easy sound too good to be true? It really isn’t. Following are a bunch of surefire SEO tips that have kept hundreds of my client’s sites on top of Google for years, with new ones every month.

There’s a lot to cover and I hate long articles that drone on so I’ll keep the info short and sweet. Let’s start with the domain name.

Domain Names

Age: Make sure your domain name is at least six months old. If it’s more than a year old, that’s even better. Google often (but not always) likes domains to be at least six months old before indexing the site. How do they know? They use a “whois” database like the one at:

http://www.AllWhoIs.com.

Go there and enter your domain if you want to see what Google (and anyone else in the world) can instantly know about your site.

TLD Type: TLD stands for Top Level Domain, which is to say the letters after the dot. The best ones to have are “.com, .net. .org and .edu.” These get the most play in Google’s top 3 rankings for just about every keyword you can imagine, with “.com” and “.edu” being the best.

Embedded Keywords: If you have your main keyword (and ONLY your main keyword) as a dotcom domain name with even just halfway decent page text and some good inbound links you can usually nail number one on Google for that keyword. I’ve done it dozens of times. It’s a no brainer.

Dashes: Having a dash in your domain name might be bad for branding but it can open whole new doors of opportunity for your search engine optimization efforts. You see Google treats a dash as a null value (almost like a space) and can take them or leave them with equal indifference. So if your main keyword phrase is a few words long, you can place a dash between each word. If that’s taken, just try one dash separating the first and second words but leave the second and third word grouped together. You get the idea. Just keep trying combinations until you have one that works and scoop up the domain. Even if you sit on it for six months, you’ll have it when you want it.

Now on to the next big item; keywords. The best keyword embedded domain name in the world will mean little if nobody is searching for that keyword. That said; let’s find the best keywords possible for your site. Here’s how…

Keywords:

Keywords in Demand: Let’s snoop into Google’s keyword database and find some winners. Go to https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and enter any keyword or phrase you think your target audience is looking for. Now click on the top header link to sort by desired search volume to see which words get the most searches.

Go Long: And don’t be afraid to use longer keywords as long as they get plenty of searches. Not only will this narrow the tasks of your workload for actual optimization but it will open all kinds of new options for finding great (dash laden) domain names and even help cut back on your competition.

Narrow Your Field: Now take the top ten or so relevant keywords and phrases and list them in order of “Approximate Monthly Searches Performed.” You might want to paste the keyword into one column of a spreadsheet and the number of searches into the next column. This next part takes a bit of math so we might as well let Excel do it.

Competition:

Competition; Less is Better: “Less is better.” Well that’s the understatement of the year. But how do you know how much competition you will be up against? It’s easy. Simple division does the trick nicely. Here’s how…

Google It: Go to Google and paste in your first keyword phrase. Look in the upper right area of the page and see how many pages you will be competing against if you try to optimize for that keyword (Results 1 – 10 of about 123,000,000 for “keyword”.) Now record that number in the cell to the right of “searches performed.” You can go ahead and do the same for each keyword. When you have all the info you need have Excel divide the number of “competing pages” by the number of “searches performed.” The lower the resulting ratio; the better your chances. Your best bet is to take the lowest ratio number with the highest number of “searches performed.” This is your optimal target.

Even More: But we’re not done yet! Now find the next best two runnerup keywords and write them down in order of importance. We’ll need them soon.

Content:

The King Lives!: You’re probably sick of hearing it but content really is king. Developing search engine friendly, well optimized content (for REAL people) is key to your success. Google can read a Web page just like a person thanks to its natural text algorithm. So keyword spamming and robotic writing do not work with Google. But here’s what DOES work…

Keep it Real: Call a close friend and tell him or her exactly what you want to tell your web visitors. Then as quick as you can write it down, as close to “word for word” as you can remember. Just let the words flow. You can fix spelling and grammar later.

Fitting In: Now, with your list of three keywords, go back through your text and fit your most important keyword as close to the beginning of the first sentence as possible. Now go ahead and place your number two keyword someplace else toward the beginning of your first paragraph. Your third keyword should go into the beginning of the second paragraph if possible.

Now use only one of your keywords for each of the next three paragraphs. Try to make them fit naturally toward the beginning sentence or two of each paragraph.

Throw in a Curve: Now use a reverse order for the very last paragraph. Put your least important keyword (number 3 pick) at the beginning of the paragraph and your best keyword at the end. This shows consistency (at least as far as Google is concerned.)

Last but not least, do not repeat any keyword more than three or four times on a page. I stick with a 3 x 3 method and it works great (3 keywords each mentioned 3 times over the course of about 9 paragraphs.)

Getting Links and Monitoring Your Site:

Inbound Links: Having high quality inbound links can account for more than 75% of your search engine ranking success. Getting these links is the crucial step that will get you over the top. At the same time you need to monitor your progress and your site’s status (how search engine REALLY see it). This will tell you not just where you are – but where you are likely to be. In the old days, we had to do all of the link work and monitoring by hand. And believe me, it took a long time (I averaged about 16 hours per week; per site!) My advice is to find a good SEO tool and let it do the tough and repetitive work for you. If you get hold of the right product, it’s the best money you’ll ever spend.

I started out with WebPosition Pro and used it for a couple years but switched to another tool that has automated linking, which I find to be the most time-consuming and now most important aspect of SEO on Google. This was probably a good call since Web Position was recently banned by Google for abuse.

Anyway, here are my results for both…

http://www.SE0elite.com Cost = 7 (lifetime free upgrades and no annual fees)

Personal Results: 121 top 5 rankings on Google in 3 weeks – Mostly 1’s and 2’s. Best Features: Finds best link partners; Automates link process; Finds “Google “authority sites.”

http://www.WebPosition.com Cost = 9 WebPosition Pro or 9 Standard (plus per year subscription fees for either)

Personal Results: 44 top 5 rankings in Google in eight weeks – Mostly 3’s and 4’s. Best Features: Site Monitoring (recently banned by Google); Great reporting; Site Critic

Now you’re ready to dominate Google. Good luck!

How Wikipedia Dominates Google Rankings and You Can Too; Lsi

How Wikipedia Dominates Google Rankings and You Can Too; Lsi

Have you ever noticed that Wikipedia ranks in the top three spots on Google for just about anything you search for? It seems almost impossible that any one site can dominate search engine rankings for tens of thousands of topics. In fact, it goes against the logic a lot of SEO experts preach.

Do they use special SEO tools or software? Not at all. So how does Wikipedia beat the odds on Google every time? It’s easy… They use a concept called Latent Semantic Indexing, or LSI for short.

The complex theories behind LSI don’t matter to us. All we need to know is LSI considers other, somewhat related, words on your page when ranking. These are words that have been sampled from “authority sites” and set aside in a database that Google references when it decides how to rank your page.

Trying to imagine what words are the best neighbors for any given keyword might be near impossible if not for a site called Quintura.

Quitura is a free service that shows you all the best latent semantic indexing “hot topic” words. It’s very easy to use.

1.) Go to http://www.Quintura.com

2.) Type in any keyword and click the search button. A “cloud” appears on the left side of the page.

3.) Look at all the words around your keyword in the cloud. These are all good but the ones in bold are most important.

4.) Now hover your mouse over your main keyword in the cloud and watch the cloud change. These are the words you really want to ensure make it onto your page.

I’ll use “SEO” as an example. In my initial cloud I see bolded words, deemed most important such as “marketing, services, optimization, expert, and “company.” These make sense but could be refined.

To refine the list I let the mouse hover over “SEO” and I get “optimization, expert, search engine, company, and services.” This is better for the context of my page and will even help lead me into writing more complete copy (page text.)

That is how you use LSI to advantage. But the following insider tips will show you how to take on the big guys like Wikipedia and Wall Street Journal Online.

LSI; Insider SEO Tip 1: Try to use the “hot topic” words in a similar manner as expressed in the cloud. In other words, if “optimization” and “expert” show up before or above “SEO” try to use them before the second mention of “SEO” (the first mention of “SEO” should be in the first few words of your opening paragraph if possible.)

LSI; Insider SEO Tip 2: You can also combine several hot topic words as a second mention. If we add, “search engine optimization expert” somewhere toward the end of the page text, we have combined three important hot topic phrases. Just don’t overdo it!

LSI; Insider SEO Tip 3: This one is right out of the Wikipedia playbook. Create a separate page for each of the hot topic words and link to and from them internally, within your page text. So in our “SEO” example, we would also have pages focused on “search engine” and “optimization.” If you’ve ever been to Wikipedia you’ll understand the beauty of this little gem.

Bonus Insider SEO Tip: Build inbound links and check your ranking regularly. Normally this would be split into two tips but there is software than can do this for you like a pro and in record time. I use a product called SEO Elite (http://www.SEOeliteWeb.com) because it gets the best results of any I’ve used and does both link building and rank checking. It also finds those elusive “authority sites” that Google loves so much.

So there it is, LSI in a nutshell. With Google incorporating more and more latent semantic indexing strategies all the time, the timing to use this could not be better. Good luck.

3 Quick and Easy Ways to Monopolize Google Rankings!

3 Quick and Easy Ways to Monopolize Google Rankings!

I got into SEO back in 1998. Back in the day, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) was much simpler than it is today. Most tricks like blatant keyword spamming and hidden key phrases worked like a champ. Even better, little tricks like these were usually OK to use. Not anymore.

In fact, most old-school tricks don’t work today and many can get your pages banned. This is great news for you. Over the next few minutes I’ll show you how to make Google absolutely LOVE your web pages and help you jump to the top!

Here is what you need to know… Google places about 90% of its ranking priorities on content and links. Keywords are still important, but only in your pages’ content (not the META Tags.)

Sounds simple, right? Definitely! And it really is. First you find the best keywords and place them just right in your web page text. Next you get great inbound links. Then finally, you monitor your progress closely (and competition’s progress.)

Step 1: Find the Best Keywords

Go to https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and type in any keyword or phrase you think your target audience is looking for.

Tip: Use specific keyword phrases whenever possible. If you have a Web page dealing with floral delivery, think beyond just the word “flowers”, with its 257,000,000 competing pages on Google and try “sending flowers”, which has fewer than one percent the number of competing pages (at 1,940,000 pages) but plenty of people searching for it each month (“flowers” = 24,900,000 searches last month while “sending flowers” had 9,400,000.) Think about it for a minute… You can compete against less than less than 1% of the pages for about 40% of the possible targeted visitors. Now that’s impressive! You have a huge advantage over 99.5% of your competition with just that single tip.

Now list the top three keywords and keyword phases in order from best to second best and so on. You’ll need this for your content.

Step 2: Develop Killer Content

Content is your most important on page optimization resource. Don’t ever forget that. It is what Google bases your ranking on, AFTER linking that is. Developing search engine friendly, “people optimized” content is vital to your success. Google can read a Web page just like a person does, thanks to natural text algorithms. And they can tell if you are writing your pages for real people or just trying to get higher ranking. Relax. With this tip, you will do both!

First, grab a pen and pad and call a friend. Tell him all about your product or service. You’re talking to a friend so be natural and let it flow. Forget grammar.

Now end the call and write it all down. Write it word for word, as close as you can remember it. If you can record the call, that’s even better.

Next, go through your newly developed page content and fit your top keyword somewhere near the beginning of the first sentence. Now try to find a natural place to insert your number two keyword; hopefully also in the first paragraph. If possible, try to get your third keyword somewhere in the second paragraph.

Now place each of your three keywords in the next three paragraphs; one keyword per paragraph. Just work it in naturally. If it doesn’t fit, don’t force it.

Avoid repeating any given keyword more than four times per page and mix it up a little. Use one of the keywords a little more or less than the others so it does not create a visible pattern.

When you get to your final paragraph at the bottom of the page, be sure to use your most important keyword in the latter half.

Step 3: Get Great Links and Monitor Your Progress

Today, quality inbound links typically account for more than 85% of your Google ranking success. Getting the best possible links is the critical step that will put your Web pages over the top. But don’t stop there! Finding and landing these links is an ongoing task that needs to happen every couple weeks, at the least. Once you are on the right track you need to monitor your progress and your site’s status (how any given search engine actually sees it). This will tell you not just where you are, but also where you are most likely to be. Years ago we had to do all link work and monitoring by hand, and it took a long time. I averaged about 16 hours per week for each site! My advice is to find a good SEO tool and let it do that work for you. If you get hold of the right product, it’s the best money you’ll ever spend.

I used WebPosition for almost three years but switched to another with automated linking, which I personally find the most time consuming part of any SEO project. Both are excellent products for tracking and reporting however (Please note that Google has since banned Web Position due to abuse but it still works great on other search engines and has very nice reporting features and worth considering if you own an SEO company with many clients.)

#1 Pick: http://www.SeoEliteWeb.com

Cost = 7 (actual cost: lifetime free upgrades and no annual fees)

Personal Results: 121 top 5 rankings on Google in 3 weeks; Mostly 1’s and 2’s.

Top Features: Finds best link partners; Automates the link building process; Provides great Site Monitoring on the major search engines including Google.

Comments: The linking alone was enough reason for me to buy it but I have since learned it does a whole lot more. I’m on version 4 after purchasing version 2 in 2005 and getting the free updates since.

#2 Pick: http://www.webposition.com

Cost = 9 WebPosition Pro or 9 Standard (actual cost: add per year subscription fees for either)

Personal Results: 44 top 5 rankings in Google in 8 weeks; Mostly 3’s and 4’s.

Top Features: Site Monitoring; Excellent reporting (but now banned on Google); Site Critic

Comments: I stopped using this one because there were no automated linking capabilities. I did however enjoy the reporting. If you own an SEO company the reporting is great to have but be advised that Google has banned the use of this product against their site and blocks it.

Now you are ready to take on the best of Google and win. Good luck!

Official Google Statement: How to Get High Rankings

Official Google Statement: How to Get High Rankings

The blog article confirms that the methods that are used by IBP to get high rankings are correct. But read it for yourself:

Inbound links are important but content is even more important

Google’s Maile Ohye writes the following about inbound links in his article:

“Inbound links are links from pages on external sites linking back to your site. Inbound links can bring new users to your site, and when the links are merit-based and freely-volunteered as an editorial choice, they’re also one of the positive signals to Google about your site’s importance.”

Nothing new here. If many related websites link to your site, and if these links look natural, this will help you rankings on Google a lot.

However, links are not the most important ranking factor. Maile Ohye gives a concrete example:

“Let’s say I have a site, example.com, that offers users a variety of unique website templates and design tips. One of the strongest ranking factors is my site’s content. Additionally, perhaps my site is also linked from three sources — however, one inbound link is from a spammy site.

As far as Google is concerned, we want only the two quality inbound links to contribute to the PageRank signal in our ranking. “

The website’s content is mentioned as one of the strongest ranking factors. The inbound links are additional. That makes sense. The content of your website tells Google what your website is about.

If you want to get a high ranking for the keyword “used cars in dallas” but your web pages are about microwave ovens then you won’t get high rankings for that keyword.

For that reason, it is very important that you optimize your web pages for the keywords for which you want to get high rankings before you try to get links from other sites.

Google analyzes over 200 ranking factors

According to the article in Google’s blog, Google analyzes more than 200 signals (we call them ‘ranking factors’) to specify the position of a web page in the search results:

“Given the user’s query, over 200 signals (including the analysis of the site’s content and inbound links as mentioned above) are applied to return the most relevant results to the user.”

If you want to know if the ranking factors of your web pages are correct then you should analyze your site with IBP’s Top 10 Optimizer. IBP analyzes all elements of your web pages and all off-site factors that influence the rankings of your website.

The report will tell you what exactly you have to change on your web pages so that all ranking factors on your site lead to a top 10 ranking on Google.

It’s a simple two-step process

Getting high rankings on Google is a simple two-step process:

You must optimize your web page contents so that Google can find out what your website is about. Optimize your web pages for your keywords so that Google knows that your website is relevant to these keywords and your topic.

Other websites must confirm that your website is about that topic. That’s what inbound links are for.

It’s as simple as that. If your website passes Google’s analysis of all ranking factors, it will get a top 10 ranking.

The article in Google’s blog confirms that you will do the right things if you optimize your web pages. You need to optimize the content of your web pages and it also helps you to get good inbound links.
