Article Optimization – Promote Your Website Effectively
Article Optimization – Promote Your Website Effectively
It is a pleasurable challenge writing to ezine and article publishing directories. This is the “sandbox” that most writers are contributing to today. More articles are written and show up as an entry to Google, Yahoo, MSN, AltaVist and other search engines than there are websites. It is much easier to write an article than it is to build a new website. The common person may not be able to build their own website, but he or she may have the talent to be a successful writer. Think of the competition though! Thousands of writers are writing about their content, promoting their website, and sharing their ideas. The numbers are overwhelming! There are a number of things that a writer needs to be aware of when submitting articles.
Article Optimization – If you want your article to show up on page number one of Google, it has to be optimized. Optimization is done by following some of the simple rules called “Search Engine Optimization.”
Choose a high quality article directory to submit to. This will contribute a great deal to getting the article close to the number one spot. You can determine the article directory’s PR rating in Google by installing the Google task bar on your browser and going to the article directory website. Contributing your article to the directory is a very simple thing. You will have to provide personal information, possibly a pen name, your website URL if you have one, and the category you will be writing about.
Use keyword rich content in the title, teaser, and body of the article. You have to do some keyword research and plug them into your article every chance that you can. A good example in this article would be the keyword “article directory.” It has to make sense when you use it. Once every paragraph or two and your readers will not get bored with the article and keep reading until the end of the article.
Use bold, italic, and underline when it seems appropriate with your keywords. Using Google, go look up some of your favorite keywords. You will notice in the list of Google links that the keywords you put in are in bold. Google picks up on the keywords. Let me repeat that, Google picks up on the keywords. In SEO Made Easy, the author indicates that not only does Google pick up on keywords, but Google picks up on keywords that are in bold, italic, and underlined.
Normally, article directories will let you place one to three incidents of anchor text in the body of the article. This is an excellent way to get a link back to your website! Google takes awhile to do this, but eventually it will index the article and register the link. You can work in your keywords in clever fashion this way. If you have a website, and you are promoting your website in the article, this is the opportunity to use the keywords from your website. You will see an example of how to do this in the bio section of this article if you have html turned on.
Use anchor text in the article writer’s bio. Most article directories accept three, others will only allow you one. This is the sales pitch. If you have interesting content in the article and have succeeded in convincing your reader that your contribution is worth investigating some more, they will want to go to your website and look some more! This is the author’s sincere wish most of all, to gain trust and rapport with his or her readers and to start a continuing business relationship. It can be done with a proper close to the article asking for the reader to “come on in, the water is fine!”
Article Writing – If you want your article to be read from start to finish, choose keywords and content that will make sense to the reader. Don’t try to write about nuclear physics to a business crowd.
Determine your audience. This is done easily by entering your keywords into Google. Look at the number of entries returned. An article will be successful if you choose an audience that is not too large that you cannot compete against and not so small that you will only expose the article too few times to too few readers. When starting, it is a good idea to start with keywords that are getting about 30 hits a day at www.overture.com. Normally there would also be less than ten million entries returned from the Google keyword search for your topic. Work on the larger populations when you get this down. You will find innumerable targets and keywords that you can do this with. There is no end to topics available on the Internet. What a rich source of information!
Use original content when submitting to article directories. They have a way of finding out if your content is not original. Article directory submission guidelines always require you have exclusive license that allows your name to be associated with the articles produced for you or by you. So don’t do it. You will get caught!
Enjoy your writing! The world is open to your ideas and more than willing to accept what you have to offer, if it is done the right way!

Search engine optimization is a right way to promote your business
Search engine optimization is a right way to promote your business
Search engine optimization refers to the method with which an entrepreneur makes the website of the company visible and pertinent to the search engines and the users. It is a procedure of making the pages of a company’s website search engine friendly so that the search engines can understand and analyze the website. This brings higher ranking to a website. The main aim is to drive the potential traffic to the website of an organization and generate maximum sales. This procedure also promotes the company and establishes the brand identity using Internet. This method is widely used among the entrepreneurs as it helps them in tapping the Internet medium beneficially to promote business.
Webmasters should consider few vital factors while making use of search engine optimization. One should not use excessive of automated queries to search engines. Avoid loading the web pages with words that are irrelevant and do not pertain to the subject that you write on your website. A webmaster should not use multiple pages to avoid duplication of the content posted on the Internet. One should select appropriate keyword phrases to drive maximum potential customers to the website. You can conduct a linguistics research for choosing the best keywords for your website. Webmasters use more than one keyword. They use two to five keyword phrases, as they are more expressive and yield good results from the search engines. It is advantageous for the webmaster to optimize the title tags in the web page. The web pages become more search engine friendly if keywords are used in the title tag. You should avoid stuffing keywords in the text of the web pages. This might result in search engines presuming the website as “over optimized.” He can include the keywords of considerable amount in body content to make the web portals feel that the content is relevant to the search query. This can fetch a better ranking. He should also ensure that Hyper Text Mark-Up Language coding is correct. This allows web portals to index and analyze the website correctly.
Search engine optimization is one of the popular ones used by the marketers to popularize their websites over the Internet. Appropriate utilization of the procedure enables an entrepreneur to establish his company’s identity in a widely used medium called World Wide Web.
Five Ways to Promote Your Business Online — Part V: Sitemaps & How They Can Improve Your Website Rank
What Is a Sitemap?
A sitemap is a page or group of pages that maps your site for users and “search engine spiders,” or “robots.” A sitemap is a list of internal links to user-accesible pages on a website. Think of it as a roadmap for your visitors. Sitemaps increase you site’s usability by clarifying its navigation structure. An XML or ROR version of a website’s sitemap is often kept in the root directory of the site for submission to search engines.
How Can a Sitemap Help Your Website’s Page Rank?
As stated above, and XML or ROR version of your web’s sitemap is kept in the root directory. Search engines use your sitemap.xml or sitemap.ror to quickly index the pages on your site. (You can customize the sitemap so that certain pages are not indexed.)
A sitemap does several things to help make your website noticeable to search engines:
A sitemap tells search engine spiders what pages of your site to index.
A sitemap tells search engine spiders how often to check your website for changes.
A sitemap makes your page more “search engine friendly,” which can help to improve your site’s page rank.
Web design tools like Adobe Dreamweaver can help you create a sitemap. Another alternative is to use a free tool like XML-Sitemaps.com. This site creates a an XML, ROR and HTML sitemap that is Google friendly. All you need to do is enter your website’s URL and press the start button. It crawls your site and generates your sitemap. All that is left is for you to download the sitemaps it generates and upload them to your website’s root directory for the search engine to find. One thing to note is that the XML or ROR version of your sitemap is designed for search engines. For human visitors, use the HTML sitemap.
Remember, you want your site to attract attention to your business. Don’t let poor navigation and the lack of a good sitemap detract from your customer’s experience.
What you Need to Know to Promote yourself Through Search Engines in Poland
The popularity of different search engines among Polish internauts
The popularity of search engines in Poland is frequently measured. Recent information can be found on different web sites such as ranking.pl or Megapanel PBI/Gemius. The analysis confirms that Polish people use not only global but also local search tools. The very recent research (from May 2007) shows distinctly that the most popular search engine is Google.
The popularity of search engines in Poland according to domain compares (http://www.ranking.pl/index.php?page=Ranks:RanksPage&stat=212|OW) the domains which drive the most visits on Polish websites. The comparison of search engines according to most popular search engines (http://www.ranking.pl/index.php?page=Ranks:RanksPage&stat=213|OW) that are used, show very similar results. In Poland there is a local version of Google which improves in ranking of popularity since it appeared (e.g. in 2004 the popularity was estimated at 42%, a year after more than 69%, while now it is more than 86%).
The second place (receded from the first one) belongs to Onet Szukaj (Onet Search), very similar to WP which occupies the third place (it uses the technology of Netsprint.pl) and gained its popularity through long time of being present at the market. These search engines are parts of important portals (www.onet.pl and www.wp.pl accordingly) from which Polish Internet began, and which offer to their visitors, through many years of their development, several services (email, chat rooms, instant messaging, news etc.). Among the internauts who use these search engines are both very loyal users and those who are just real beginners. The fourth in the ranking is Interia.pl – the search engine which is the part of well a known Polish portal which uses Google technology. These are followed by MSN, Szukacz.pl, Yahoo, Gooru, Altavista and others… but because of a rudimentary market share, are showed here only to present a complete data. Summing this up, when planning SEO / SEM activities in search engines used by Polish internauts, there are three which are worth to pay attention to:
- Google.pl,
- Onet Szukaj,
- WP / Netsprint.pl.
The way of using search engines by Polish internauts
The tendencies observed in the way search engines are used in Poland overlap with those of international users. The Polish use search engines much more often, more effectively and frequently. They not only make more accurate and detailed queries but also perceive the listings as a reliable information not just random combination of links. They are able to notice the differences between organic listings and sponsored links, which they are (surprisingly?) willing to click since it is one out of two (beside button) most popular (and well tolerated) ways of online advertising. According to Gemius (2006) 82% of search engines’ users click on paid links. Polish internauts, as well as international ones, concentrate on the first three pages of searching results and usually they click on top three links. The research of Visual attention to Online Search Engine Results (http://www.checkit.nl/pdf/eyetracking_research.pdf) illustrates these observations in details.
How long a statistical Polish internaut spends on searching on Internet? According to the research of Gemius (held in December 2006) the average user uses Google (since it is the most popular search engine) about 5 hours, 5 minutes and 39 seconds monthly. However, this time is not only spent on searching but also on using mailbox on gmail.com, Google Maps, or services such as blogger.com. On average the internauts spend 3 hours 2 minutes and 29 seconds on the search engine’s website. In comparison, Onet search engine is used 32 minutes and 47 seconds monthly, WP search engine 21 minutes and 58 seconds, while Szukacz.pl is used only 5 minutes and 26 seconds a month. Taking into consideration the average duration of page view internauts use Google similarly to other search engines, however the number of page views per user is different. Google search engine has here predominance. On average there are 101.18 page views monthly, while for the second Onet and fourth Interia it is just 18.27 and 17.83 accordingly.
The most popular keywords in Poland
It is well known what Polish internauts use to search through the Internet and how they do it, the only question is what they generally look for. The most popular keywords in search engines are regularly updated – e.g. in case of Onet (http://boksy.onet.pl/ranking.html) on a weekly basis. The most popular subjects searched for in polish search engines are erotica, entertainment (for example, surnames of popular stars, music files, funny videos, etc.), season entries – connected with current events in the country, or information such as weather, train timetable, loans, work and… search engines! Car related phrases and tourism are very popular as well.
The use of search engine optimization and search engine marketing in Poland
More than 75% of Polish companies (a poll made by Bluerank) use search engine optimization (web positioning and optimization) to improve the visibility of company website at the search engine ranking pages. In addition, half of the examined companies have executed advertising campaigns (PPC) with the use of sponsored links on Polish and international search engines. Polish experts claim that the budget use for this kind of advertising reaches 20% since SEM is the leader of e-marketing. It is because of low costs and efficiency but first of all, perceived by common internauts as practical and useful (according to Gemius actually 29% of all users like paid links and click on them).
The most competitive branches in Poland when talking about SEM activity are finance, tourism, car industry, IT, entertainment, healthcare, real estate and e-commerce. Because of this competitiveness the costs of advertising are much higher than in the less popular areas. The cost of promotion is changing also because of the time period. During festive time, such as the second half of December, the costs increase because of huge popularity of sponsored links, especially in the retail area. Tourism has its ‘raise and fall’ depending on season. The holiday time is very crucial (June-August), New Years Eve, as well as winter holidays (February). Finances are in good condition through the whole year (there is always competition) but taking into consideration IT there is minor stagnation between II and III term, so it means the sponsored links might be cheaper at that time. There is a great dependence not only according to the branch but also country, habits of a certain community and calendar of events.
Advertising opportunities in Polish search engines
The most diverted offer of search engine advertising in Polish Internet has Netsprint.pl/WP, which offers to advertisers not only PPC campaigns and banners but also very recent “phone link” (pay-per-call solution) and many others – unusual ways of advertising on the search engine results pages with the content modified according to requirements of the campaign. A very good example is the action called “AIDS search engine protection“. Netsprint is a quite flexible partner in this kind of negotiation, in contrast to Google.pl which is constrained to follow strict rules of the corporation and not to come forth obligatory limitation in the field of SEM.
The great advantage of Polish Google (in comparison with the other already mentioned here search engines) is large simplicity of usage – not only for internauts searching through the Internet but also for advertisers who conduct PPC campaigns. The administration panel is comprehensible, intuitive in use and useful. It gives a wide range of possibilities in setting up the advertising campaign – especially while targeting. Netsprint’s panel is the least useful but there is a possibility to get free pieces of advice from search engine’s consultants.
Google does not offer all of the ways of advertising which is used for example in USA. Polish SEM activity with the use of this search engine is mainly focused on AdWords. AdSense is not so popular – mainly because there is not enough websites and unsatisfactory quality of them in the Google network. In Poland, there are not only popular and worth reading newspapers, magazines or professional bulletins, but also different private, “hobby like” websites with low popularity and high risk of fraud clicks, which expose advertisers on incidental expenses.
The advantage of search engine of Onet (in comparison with WP) is an advanced possibility to target ads and well described user profile. According to the data from a search engine – among the total of 11 million of Polish internauts, 650.000 use exclusively Onet (Megapanel PBI/Gemius research from 2006/2007). A very unique feature of this portal is a section called Onet.eu, which is intended to visit by Polish people who live in the United Kingdom. In case this is an interesting target group, it is worth to take into consideration contextual advertising there through OnetKontekst.
Search engines and SEM in Poland – predictions for the future
For a few years now Polish search engines have been trying to follow the example of American companies and developed markets of Western Europe. When improving local search engines and ways of SEM advertising, Polish people follow the best practices of Google in the range of searching and advertising products. This trend should remain and hopefully soon in Poland there will be a lot of high budget campaigns in search engines. However, even today we can observe constant, increasing need for Polish SEM agencies’ services among foreign companies. Those SEM agencies are familiar with the specific character of Polish market, they are relatively cheap and have all the competencies needed to promote foreign brands, products and services in search engines in Poland.
“As far as the international cooperation is concerned, our company takes part in projects which integrate actions of search engine marketing for one brand in different European countries. We are adapting the campaign of sponsored links to Polish reality in the Internet as well as planning the marketing activity of international companies from the scratch on the Polish market” – says Maciej Gałecki, CEO of Bluerank, SEM agency in Poland. “We are open to all different forms of cooperation in the field of promotion by using search engines in Central and Western Europe”.
Promote Your Book On Twitter In 10 Minutes A Day
If you’re marketing your books online, then you’ve probably heard of Twitter. It was all the rage last year in social media, and millions of people have joined this micro-blogging community. Maybe you even started a profile page and sent out a tweet or two. If so, that’s great. And if you’ve been avoiding it for one reason or another, it might be time to try it out.
Why? With millions of people tweeting every day, it’s a huge source of potential readers for your book. It’s easy to get followers and it’s a great way to interact with your reading audience. But one of the main excuses I hear about why people aren’t on Twitter-or they aren’t using it fully-is that it’s so time consuming. Well, it can be. But not if you try the following tips.
Automate Your Tweets
With so many people on Twitter, you need a lot of tweets per day to really maximize your exposure. But you don’t want to spend all day tweeting. Automation is the answer. You can use the following tools to tweet on your behalf.
Hoot Suite: This program allows you to schedule tweets ahead of time. So once a month, you can go into your Hoot Suite account and set it up to tweet several times a day for you. You have to enter each tweet and schedule them one at a time, which can be tedious, but it’s worth getting several days of tweets out of the way at one time. I use this tool especially when I’m announcing a teleseminar or other event that’s scheduled on my calendar.
Social Oomph: This tool also allows you to schedule tweets for later, but the true beauty of Social Oomph is that you can set it to send all your new followers a welcome message. This saves time contacting everyone who follows you, and allows you to start building a relationship with them right away.
Twitter Feed: This tool allows you to link your blog or any other RSS feed to your Twitter account. This means any time you update your blog, a tweet is automatically sent out. You only have to set this up once, and then it works automatically. And it’s a great way to get new eyes on your blog posts.
Make Tweeting Easy
You can only automate so much of your Twitter activity. You’ll also have to check in periodically through the day to communicate with people and send out the more personal tweets, like what you’re working on that day or what you’re excited about. The key to getting it down to ten minutes or less is making it super easy to tweet. Here are a few tips.
Link Your Twitter Account to Your Cell Phone: When your cell phone is linked to your Twitter account, you can take advantage of spare minutes in your day, like when you’re waiting in line or stuck in traffic, to post updates. When you sign up for a Twitter account, you’ll be asked if you want to use your phone with it. And they’ll give you the steps for setting everything up.
Use a Desktop Twitter Manager, Like Tweet Deck: Tweet Deck is a free program that you can download to your computer and use to see everything that’s happening on Twitter in one place. It has a column for the live feed, a column that shows everyone who’s mentioned you, and a column for all the direct messages you receive. This makes the all-important social interaction easy.
Send Quality Tweets
If you want people to respond to you and follow you, then you need to keep them interested. Plus quality tweets will maximize the time you do spend on this social media site. I’ve heard a few different formulas from different Twitter experts, but basically you want a daily mix of tweets that include:
Giving away good information that will interest people in your target audience, such as links to your blog posts, tips, interesting quotes, links to other people’s blog posts, links to articles, etc. This should be the bulk of your Twitter activity-and these are the easiest types of tweets to automate, by the way.
Being nice to people by complimenting them, retweeting their tweets, engaging in conversation, responding to their questions, etc. This is what you do when you check in with your mentions and direct messages.
Being real. Social media is all about being approachable. So once or twice a day, check in with what you’re working on, what’s bugging you, what delicious restaurant you ate lunch at, something funny you found on the web, or what’s going on in your life. Let your followers know the real you, even if you don’t think it’s interesting.
Asking for a sale. The whole point of your Twitter participation is selling books, right? Well, then, at some point you need to ask folks to buy your book. However, you can’t blatantly promote your book all the time (maybe once or twice a day if you have ten-fifteen other tweets going out), and you can’t just come right out and ask people to buy. Try tweeting about some tip from your book and link to a sales page, making it informational as well as subtly promotional.
Tweeting Your Way to Book Sales
Twitter is too big to ignore-especially if you’re marketing your book online. It’s a great, free way to get traffic to your site and find a reading audience. But no one wants to spend all day tweeting. When you use these tips for automating, simplifying, and maximizing your Twitter time, you can reap all the benefits from this using this social media site in ten minutes a day or less!
5 Ways to Use Facebook Video to Promote Your Business
The past few years have really seen an explosion in social networking and social media sites. This growth in social networking has opened up many doors for marketers and entrepreneurs because there are many sites out there, such as Facebook, that have hundreds of thousands of members who sign in every single day to chat with friends, play games or send messages. By creating a Facebook video marketing campaign you can take advantage of this in order to get more exposure for your products or services.
So, how exactly can you use Facebook video to promote your business? Well there are actually a number of techniques, and in this article I am going to talk you through 5 different methods that will not only help to promote your products or services, but will also help you to gain much more traffic for your website, which you can then convert into an increased number of sales!
1) Of course the obvious thing to do is to use your video upload on Facebook as a direct marketing tool for your promotional material so that everyone can view your video on your profile page. This is a great way of raising awareness about your products and services, and can also be used to drive visitors from your Facebook profile page to your website.
2) However, video marketing on Facebook doesn’t just have to revolve around direct advertising. In fact, you may decide to use a Facebook video to increase your public reputation, or to demonstrate that you are an expert in your specific niche. For instance, you could create a video to display testimonials from satisfied customers. Not only does this show that you run a genuine business which actually delivers what you promise, but it is also a great way of ‘indirect’ marketing.
3) If you are an expert in a certain field then a great way of promoting yourself is to create a series of “how to” videos (as I do). Again, this is an excellent way of raising awareness about your products and services, but at the same time you are also offering the viewer information or advice. For instance, if you sold plant food, you could upload a video on Facebook showing viewers how to properly care for their plant or if you were an IT expert you could create a video showing prospects how to get the most out of their programs, or how to use new software.
4) Your Facebook video marketing campaign could take the form of a series of reviews about the products or services that you offer in your niche. You could review your own products and demonstrate how to use them, or perhaps explain to your prospects why your products or services are better value than any others on the market.
5) You can also upload a video on Facebook to build your reputation within your specific niche. Instead of trying to use Facebook as a platform to directly attract buyers, you may consider using it to establish your name or brand as a credible entity. For instance, you could create a series of videos discussing the latest trends or developments in your niche. You could give your thoughts and opinions, and discuss the latest news and the affect it will have on the consumer.
Basically instead of trying to sell directly through your Facebook video, you are treating it more as a video blog to share your thoughts and opinions. Not only will this show your potential customers that you care about and have a personal interest in your niche, but it will also help to create a feeling of trust between you and your potential customers, making them more likely to buy from you.
The most important thing when using Facebook video marketing, or any social network marketing for that matter, is to avoid coming across as a spammer. If people think you are only interested in force feeding them your marketing message then they will not bother to accept your friend request, they will not bother to read your profile, they will not bother to view any video uploads you have posted and they will certainly not bother to visit your website. Furthermore, if Facebook suspects you are a spammer they may even ban you, so make sure you maintain a good balance between promoting your products or services, and actually offering useful information for your viewers.

LinkedIn Marketing: How to Use LinkedIn to Promote Your Business
5 Easy steps to use LinkedIn to promote your business
Step 1: Customizing your URL
Your profile needs to be easily found and indexed by search engines. Don’t use the default but instead customize it so you use a branded link. (example: http://www.linkedin.com/companies/air-miles-reward-program).
Air Miles Example Company Profile
Make sure you use the “Full View” option so your company details will be open to the public. Well known companies will use their own company name because it is recognized. However if you are a small company use a relevant keyword and new people will find out about you and what your company does. Also since Google gives LinkedIn profiles a higher ranking usually this will help with search engines finding your website.
Step 2: Promote your company profile
Since your company profile usually has details about your company and employee contacts people will be able to find someone they can reach to find more about you. Think about ways of promoting this URL, in company communications and documentation, email, etc. You can think of your company’s profile page as a business directory of sorts. Such as looking for an Account Manager or a Sales Rep to get in touch with, luckily they will all be listed on your LinkedIn company profile page.
Step 3: Use keywords to define and identify your specialty
Looking at the example from Step 1 above, Specialties: loyalty, retail, marketing, rewards, data, measurement
This makes total sense for the industry that Air Miles is trying to reach and the keywords that resonate with potential clients looking for those type of specialty areas.
Step 4: Establish industry leadership and a respected resource for information
Updating your profile page with new content is easy if you link it to new blog postings (tools are available for integrating these together automatically), allowing your profile page to include recent information from your marketing website or blog will help it stay fresh. Also when new people search their contact network for contacts in these areas your information and contact details will be front and center.
Step 5: Add a profile picture and maybe even your company products and services
Don’t miss an opportunity to brand your company logo on this prime online real estate. Upload your company logo, address details, phone number, and tag line as one large image.
Doing this will make you look more credible and professional.
Why would you want to do this?
You want to get noticed by more people, and help search engines to find your website. Adding your website link to your profile will help search engines scanning through the LinkedIn landing pages to find your website. Perhaps even find your blog posts if you are following Step 4 above.

But make sure you gradually increase the link building process a site linked with many paid sites in a shorter period of time is considered as a spam website so remember and play safe while getting paid links to your website.
Other strategies of Internet Marketing
Advertisements
Initially if you want a boost your website you need to spend money, getting into google search results and getting a good rank will take more time, if you want to see any immediate and short term gains you can go for advertisements, best one I suggest is google adwords it’s a Pay per click program, for the start you can start advertising in google adwords and other ways are the one you need to research and find.
Email marketing
This is also another good way of marketing your product/services online but it takes time, you need to get lot of subscribers for your website. Don’t try to send emails for non subscribers.
If you use these techniques you are on the way to get huge business from internet over a period of time. “Slow and steady wins the race” will be the right sentence for doing business online.
