Seo Expert Advice On Google Bing And Yahoo

Seo Expert Advice On Google Bing And Yahoo

SEO certified expert advice states that Google continues to dominate still, with Yahoo and Bing the next two options for people that use the search engines. Though the general Google is a clear leader as first choice for Internet users when trying to find something interesting on the internet, this is not necessarily in all categories. In some categories information or services can be found on its website traffic from Bing and Yahoo search considerably more than Google.

So it is important when optimizing your site to target not just Google but all the big three (Google, Bing, and Yahoo). Some of our websites have achieved Top 10 Rankings and first page results for main keywords in Bing where Google can take up to 3 times as long by comparison.

SEO expert information states that Googlebot will pick up a new website quickly, usually only the business name will achieve high status quickly, not your main keywords. Often new websites listed on Google’s search results will not achieve high rankings in several months, and very competitive keyword for six months plus. Google loves unique content, so the websites that are not in such a competitive market and provide something new and different achieve top 10 rankings within a month or two.

Because of how long it takes to achieve this status, it is important that you have website optimization, monitored and keywords are checked regularly to ensure you keep up with your competitors. Continual optimization of your site may need to ensure that you not only achieve the top ranking in the first place, but to maintain them.

Google Spider can visit your website as soon as within a day your site is launched for the first time. According to SEO expert services, unless the site provides something new and unique at this current time it is very unlikely that you will achieve high rankings in anything other than your company name in a short time.

It is also possible there may be keywords that have a higher ranking, but if they are competitive keywords in a competitive market, then this will be very unlikely. If you are providing a service or product that is new or individual, you will certainly have more opportunities to achieve these high rankings as Google loves new content.

Bing is generally much faster in not only picking up a new website and register it, but also if your site is properly optimized, you can achieve high rankings in search engine results. Bing in less than one month, even in markets that are relatively competitive. This is not guaranteed, but I’ve seen this happen on multiple times.

Yahoo Search can bring a constant flow of traffic on your site, the challenge lies in listening in the first place with them. I’ve seen websites picked up by Yahoo spider and recorded within a month, but these are rare cases. You can usually take at least three months, if not more for Yahoo to visit your site first, no matter what SEO methods are used. When Yahoo search, select a site up but it does not take very long for a site to achieve good rankings and to start driving traffic to your website.

Is Optimizing Your Website for Bing will benefit you in future?

Is Optimizing Your Website for Bing will benefit you in future?

Is Optimizing Your Website for Bing will benefit you in future?

As many a blog entry will go over, there’s been a good amount of buzzing around the launch of Microsoft’s new Bing search engine. Moreover, there’s been a well-brought-up quantity of rumor on what the growing popularity of Bing — along with their recent agreement with Yahoo — will mean in regards to Search Engine Optimization.

There is lot of rumor in internet that Bing is stealing market share from Google. Question keep on buzzing in our mind

1. What if Bing, after the initial buzz around their launch upland, begins to steadily challenge Google’s long standing dominance both in market share and SEO focus?

2. What can I do now to start making sure my site is well optimized for Bing so that I’m not playing catch up a year from now when all of my competitors are ranking well within both Google and Bing?

In response to the first question, what seems to be the common theme in most responses to this by industry experts is that Google for a long time now hasn’t had a realistic challenger to its search dominance, allowing them to focus on side projects such as the recently announced Chrome OS, upcoming Google Wave, and Cloud applications such as Google Documents.

What you’ll most likely see as Bing becomes a stronger competitor in the realm of Search, is that Google will begin — as it has already with the May launch of their “Show Options” feature — to release features to better compete with some of Bing’s advertised advantages over Google.

While many of these changes will be designed to enhance and better organize results, many believe the recent competition imposing by Bing will benefit visitors looking for relevant results, as well as sites looking to have them found for relevant queries.

In response to the second question, the answer is to continue to focus on the same SEO best practices you’ve been focusing on.  The type of SEO work and tasks webmasters need to perform to be successful in Bing haven’t changed — all of the skills and knowledge that webmasters have invested in previously applies fully today with Bing. Moreover, investments in solid, reputable SEO work made for Bing will bring similar improvements in your website’s page rank in Google and Yahoo! as well.

SEO task you should do for Bing optimization for your website.

* Unique, keyword-oriented Titles and Meta Descriptions for ever page of your site

* Keyword-oriented, clean and well-structured URLs

* Singular themes per page with keyword-oriented content in reference to your page’s theme

* Submission of a well structured and relevant XML sitemap to Bing’s Webmaster Center

* Submission of your site to Bing using Bing’s Ping service

There still certain factors while starting SEO service for Bing search engine such as the quality of your inbound links, along with other standard SEO best practices play significant roles.

While the same SEO best practices will assist your site’s ranking within Bing, some of these items — according to initial studies — seem to play a greater role with Bing than they do with Google.  Meta Descriptions is one example. Currently, Bing places more importance on the quality of your Meta Descriptions than Google does.

What this means for some sites is that focusing on these same SEO practices, with a tighter focus on the quality of your Meta Descriptions and quality, unique content can help even sites reliant on longer-tail searches be more visible, due to different user behavior on Bing.  This is true as well with a more local-focus being presented by Bing. It is reported that Bing is weighting local results in a more aggressive manner than Google.

Of course, with Bing being relatively new, things could change as the competition with Google heats up. The advent of new features and options — some of which will focus on micro formats, RDF and other advanced SEO practices — is sure to keep this space dynamic as well.

Why new users would switch from Google to Bing?

Microsoft had updated its search arena with the introduction of Bing in June this year. Since, its launch the search engine has shown positive growth and reached about 3.52% in August month globally. Various analysts presume that with such a positive growth, Microsoft’s Bing could challenge Google’s monopoly in the near future. However, this is not an easy task for Bing to beat the search giant.

Latest Market Share

According to the latest numbers from a research firm, Bing’s global market share has dropped to 3.39% in September from 3.52% in August. The drop is very small but it is not clear that the attempt from Bing to capture search engine market share from Google has stalled, or even gone into reverse.

Bing has outperformed its competitors in features and initial growth rate. However, the initial take-off of Bing could be due to the curiosity from the web-users. The reason behind this may be the hype it created and also, Microsoft pumped millions of dollars for its promotions and advertisements.

At number one, Google has more than 80% market share and Yahoo maintained as the second most used search engine, but its market share dropped from 7.28% to 6.84% in the aforesaid period.

Why new users would switch to Bing?

Last month, it was reported that Microsoft’s new Bing search engine is growing faster than any of its search competitors in the top 10. Bing happens to be a very viable search alternative to Google and offers several advantages that Google cannot compete with at the moment. Here are some features that enhance search experience for the users:

1.    Travel Insight with Farecast technology: It helps for searching flights, hotels or other travel arrangements by providing you with the information to make smart decisions. The search engine analyse more than 175 billion airfare observations and predict whether the price of a flight is going up or down using the technology acquired from Farecast. It also provides a recommendation of either “Buy Now” or “Wait,” over the next seven days.

2.    Bing Cashback Offer: It provides benefit to the user, who first search a product with Bing and then go for buy. Depending on the deal, your purchases could benefit you upto 30% of the purchase price back in cash form. Also, the search engine offered double cashback rewards for August, but they had to stop the scheme in between due to high demands.

3.    Bing Visual Search: The new technology allows visitors to filter their search enquiries for structured results through data-grouping image galleries making it not just a search engine, but a “decision engine.” At present, it is only available in US.

4.    BingTweets: The new service from the search engine was initiated on July 14, 2009 with the social website, Twitter and Federated Media. It provides real-time information and trendy topics to the viewers.

5.    Enhanced Search: Bing also provides something extra as compared to its competitors, for example options of enhanced view and preview windows for results. With these features, users can view the content of the search without clicking on the url. Also, the enhanced view directs the user to Wikipedia content without leaving Bing.

Page One Google or Page One Bing Your Goal? – Then DO NOT Do Any of the Following – By M Collins

So you want to be one page one google and page one bing? PAGE ONE GOOGLE are you kidding me? For any keyword?

Yes, I am telling you it is entirely possible to be on page one of Google and page one of Bing and all the major search engines (and the minor ones for that matter-but why? hardly anyone uses those).

First of all to get on page one of Google or Bing you have to think about this: There is already someone on page one of google and page two of google! So what does that mean? It means if there is already someone there, then YOU can be there! Someone has already done it!

You just have to be as smart about getting there as they were, or smarter! ]

I charge a ton of money to get people there because what I have discovered over the past 15 years works! plain and simple. For those who want to get their company and website to page one Google and page one Bing, listen up, I am going to tell you a few key points to help you get there……..or rather, what NOT to do!

Why would you want to be on page one of Google or Bing anyway? All that traffic, all that attention……haven’t you worked long and hard enough so you now deserve to be hidden and not noticed? GET OFF of YOUR Quest to be on page one of Google……Make sure you are following these items exactly!

Here are a few DO and DON’TS (Don’t do the following unless you WANT to be one page one Google or page one Bing)

1. Do NOT put your keyword in your URL- Google doesnt like that, and when researching for relevancy, people always like to have to look deep for their answers, it makes them feel better.

2. Do NOT include your Keyword in your domain name – It just confuses people and especially the search engine spiders

3. Never include your keyword in your title tag – This practice is sure to get you banned!

4. Don’t put you keyword in your description tag either! EVER!

5. Don’t even think of including your keyword in your H1, H2, or H3 tags – They are there just for looks!

6. Don’t use any keywords in your Alt test image tags – no one uses computers that are old or slower anymore!

7. Over stuff your index page with your keywords, the more the better……..Google won’t even notice!

8. Link your site to other websites that have nothing to do with your product, company or service.

9. Immediately send your visitors to another page other than the one they clicked on, using meta refresh

10. Place your keywords in invisible text on each page!

11. Never use any anchor text in inbound links to your site.

12. Don’t get listed in sites like DMOZ directory. People do not need to find you!

13. Getting listed in Yahoo’s directory is way overrated, DON’T do it!

14. If you have a site that is older than 1 year, dump it. Site age works against you, Google likes new and fresh sites! (call me before you do this and we’ll dispose of your old site, heh heh)

15. Cloak your site so that when you present one page to the search engine spider, you present another to everyone else – Google loves to guess!

16. Buy all your links from link farms! For sure! Google likes it when you “think outside the box”

17. Be sure and put all your text into graphic format, so that the search spiders can see them better

18. DO NOT build links over time and make sure, do not try to build links with other sites that have high page ranks or happen to be in the same industry as yours. Google likes diversificaiton.

There you have it, the 18 Top Ways to insure that you will NEVER be on page one of Google, Bing, Yahoo or most any search engine.

Now as you know, there are many factors to page one Google, Bing and Yahoo dominance, but this is a great place to start and get noticed.

Seriously, each of these search engines, Google especially, are constantly changing the way they rank and show things…..this is a good thing. It makes it better for the user. More and more relevancy. Each time someone searches for something on the web, they want to find it, plain and simple.

My hat’s off to Google, Bing and Yahoo for doing such a great job at this and continuing to fine tune what makes that happen. It makes the whole experience better for everyone and it makes it even more important when you are planning or redoing your website, to make it relevant and make it true to what it’s really about.

Getting page one google placement is king. Start by being smart about and thinking like your customer or end user would think (and don’t forget to pay attention to the 18 things above!)

Have Fun!

I Wish You The Best of Luck in Your Quest for Page One Google! (Don’t hesitate to call on the pro’s when you need help)

I’ll personally answer any questions you ask at mcollins@pageonebing.com

Cheers!

Google V/s Bing

BING V\S GOOGLE

Ever since Microsoft launched its Bing search engine, it has drawn a lot of interest (and speculation) from the SEO community. On one hand, this is quite logical because Bing is intended to be one more heavy-weight player and it is expected to cut some share from Google. On the other hand, this is hardly the first time a new heavy-weight player comes to the ring, so maybe the expectations that Bing will put an end to Google’s monopoly are groundless. Still, Bing is quite different (in a positive way) from the other search engines and this is its major strength.

What’s different with bing?

The first impression you get when you go to Bing.com is that it is different – the background makes it cute but sure, there have been many other cases of search engines with tons of graphical frills to disguise their irrelevant search algorithms. However, when you type a search term, the results you get are a pleasant surprise because they are relevant.

It is this relevance of search results that worries SEO experts. The results you get when you search with Bing are relevant, yet they are very different from Google’s. Actually, no matter if you search with Google or with Bing (or if you go to Bingle, you can compare the result sets side by side), you get relevant results and the two sets are very different from one another.

One of the most important things SEO experts are curious to know about Bing is its algorithm. Obviously, Bing’s algorithm is different from Google’s because when the search term is the same but the set of results is different, a difference in the algorithm is the obvious answer. Actually, the question is exactly what is different between the two algorithms and if the difference is so drastic that it makes it mandatory to reoptimize a site for Bing.

What to do for now?

Wait. This is the first thing you need to do. Right now it is too early to say what steps (if any) are required in order to optimize your site for Bing.

Additionally, no matter how promising Bing looks, it is still early to predict if it will become a real competitor to Google or if it will become one more failed attempt to dethrone Google. Let’s see how users react – will they start Binging more or will they stick to Google. When it becomes clear that Bing will be able to make it, then it will make sense to optimize for it as well. So for now the best you can do is wait.

What will Help you to be on top on bing

As you probably guess, the exact algorithm of Bing is not publicly available and because of that there is a lot of speculation about what weighs more for Bing (in comparison to Google) and what weighs less. Many SEO experts test different search queries, analyze the results, and based on that try to figure out what of the known SEO tactics works with Bing.

Some SEO experts even think that Bing is actually Live Search in new clothes (i.e. user interface), while others say that there are noticeable differences between Live Search and Bing. But there is no doubt that for now Bing is a significant improvement over Live Search in terms of relevance of search results.

Bing is hardly the first time when there is no agreement in the SEO community about the intricacies of the algorithm but if we can summarize, here are some factors, which are (or at least are strongly believed to be) of importance when Bing optimization is concerned:

Importance of backlinks doesn’t matter. If you compare the first 10 results in Bing and Google, it is noticeable that all equal, the winners in Bing have less backlinks than the winners in Google. It is unclear if nofollow matters with Bing. Anchor text matters more. The quantity of quality inbound links might be of less importance for Bing but the anchor text certainly matters more. Actually, since anchor text is one of the measurements of the quality of inbound links, it isn’t much different. Get quality anchor text and you will do well in both Bing and Google. Could’t helped out with link spaming. Since the quantity of backinks (even if they are of supreme quality) seems to be of less importance to Bing, link spamming will be even less effective than with Google. Onpage factors matters more. This is one of the most controversial points. Many SEO experts disagree but many also think that onpage factors matter more with Bing than with Google. Still, it has nothing to do with the 90s, when onpage factors were definitive. Authority matters. If this is true, this is bad news for bloggers and small sites because it means that search results are distorted in favor of older sites and/or sites of authoritative organizations. Age of domain is also very important with Bing – even more than with Google. Page rank is less important. When you perform a search for a competitive keyword and you see a couple of PR2 or even PR1 sites among the top 10 results, this might make you wonder. On Google this is hardly possible but on Bing it looks quite normal. Content is less important. Bing looks a bit conservative – or maybe it just can’t index sites that quickly – but it seems that fresh content is not so vital as with Google. This is related to the age of domain specifics and as a result you will see ancient pages rank high (but these ancient pages are relevant to the search query). Binging is Flash-friendly. Optimizing a Flash site for Google is a bit of a SEO nightmare. It is too early to say but it looks like Bing is more Flash-friendly, which is good news to all sites where Flash is (still) heavily employed.

Websites with very high page rank doesn’t matter a lot to the bing what does really matters now for bing is quality of the page.

For now it is too early to say which factors are of primary importance with Bing. But the fact that their search results are relevant means that their algorithm is really precise. Well, maybe the relevant results in Bing are due to the fact that web masters were taken by surprise and they haven’t had the time to optimize for Bing. As a result, the content is authentic; there are no SEO gimmicks and artificial pumping. We’ll see if this will stay so in the future, when web masters learn how to optimize for Bing as well!

Where Will Google, Yahoo, Bing and Twitter Be in Ten Years?

The internet is a very dynamic sector, one moment something is popular then the next moment its not. Currently there are three major search engines in the mix, they are Google, Yahoo and Bing and Twitter is also very much on the rise. So where will these major players be in a decade from now? Let us take a quick look and prediction.

Google
Currently the big daddy of them all Google has more then 80% of the entire search market in its hands. But lately it seems as though the company just does not have the push that it used to. They seem to be concentrating a lot more on getting into other markets such as mobile phones and operating systems. In around ten years time Google may well be knocked off of their perch.

Bing
The Microsoft search engine is doing some big things. As well as rebranding themselves, Microsoft are also going to be joining forces with Yahoo and powering their search, as well as getting access to Yahoo’s technology and algo. We all know that Yahoo know how to analyse natural links and natural citations a lot better then Bing. So the two joining up may make them a force to be reckoned with, especially with the money that Microsoft could be putting into it.

Yahoo
Yahoo’s search technology and engineers will live on but the results look to be taken over by Bing. The two could ultimately rival Google.

Twitter
The new kid on the block. Twitter has spread like wild fire and has recently redesigned its homepage in an attempt to become a real time search engine. Can it succeed? Yes probably, but people want to begin seeing actually real sites not just conversations. So either Twitter will have to learn to develop and actually crawl, list and rank sites or end up being another social has-been.

But summing up we all know that Google are the power force at the moment and to retain that title, I really feel that the company need to be moving forwards. A great thing would be to actually purchase Twitter and integrate real time conversations and use the buzz as a ranking, and then they would secure themselves for another decade or so. But only time will tell and it will be a great insight to see how this all pans out in the future and a lot of business owners with sites will be watching this space closely.

Google and Bing Face Off with Real-Time Facebook and Twitter Social Search

As Google continues to topple Microsoft’s Bing in the area of online search, Microsoft showed us that they’re not backing down, and surprised the social media world with a major announcement on Wednesday: Bing will now feature “tweets” – and soon, Facebook status updates – in real-time as part of their search engine results.

Initial reactions were a bit negative, as users worried about their privacy, and why it was even necessary to include them in results in the first place. After all, there are already many Twitter-specific search engines that produce real-time and analytical results, such as Twitter’s own search feature. Twitter was quick to assure users that privacy settings could be adjusted accordingly, and also stressed the fact that not all tweets would be included in searches. Twitter creator @Biz wrote on the Twitter blog,

“Twitter is providing Bing access to the overwhelming deluge of public, real-time tweets rushing in from all around the world so they can help you find those that make the most sense right now. While Twitter currently presents tweets based simply on timeliness, Bing is experimenting with new solutions such as “best match.”

While the announcement has definitely generated more buzz and usage of Bing, the question still remains: how relevant will it really be? If you’ve ever used the Twitter search, either by keyword or hashtag, the results can be overwhelming, streaming in at hundreds or thousands of results each second. If this happens with the Bing searches, will it turn users away? Microsoft claims there will be a feature to sift out irrelevant results, by analyzing keywords, number of retweets, and more in order to produce the best information; just how well it will work is still to be determined. In the end, users who use Bing as a “decision engine” will definitely have more opinions to chose from in order to make their choice.

This new feature has the potential to be big, as long as it can actually add value. While it may be more convenient, and raw results are interesting to see, but without a purpose, it will slowly become irrelevant. There is more data than ever before, between Web sites, blogs, social media profiles and more. In the race to relevancy, it’s the one who can find a way to bring all of that information together in a useful, interesting, and easily accessible way who will ultimately cross the finish line first. In the eyes of most users, that “one” is still Google.

Just hours after the Bing announcement, Google went one step further and announced the new Labs feature of Social Search, which will not only pull in Twitter results, but those from other social media platforms as well (similar to how you now see Google News and Images results). Already ahead in…
