The Big Flaw in the Google Sniper System
The Big Flaw in the Google Sniper System
Google Sniper is one of the most successful and most frequently sold “how-to-make-money-online” products ever released. People have flocked to it in masses and it seems everyone is busy building “Sniper Sites” and trying to make them profitable. There is one big flaw in the GSniper System, however and you have to understand how the system works, in order to realize it.
The Premise
First, we need to take a quick look at the premise of Google Sniper, which is what makes it so attractive to many: This system promises to teach you how to quickly create small websites and monetize them. What sets it apart from other systems is that it teaches you how to get traffic to your websites for free, without having to build backlinks or write articles.
This is what sets GSniper apart from all the rest: The idea that you can get your website ranked on the first page of Google without building any backlinks to it!
Is that really possible?
The short answer is: Yes, that is really possible.
The Flaw
So, where’s the flaw? The big problem in Google Sniper is how it teaches you to pick a product and one of the tips it gives you on picking a keyword to target.
First, the product selection: The only advice given in GSniper is that you should go to ClickBank (the most popular affiliate network for electronic products) and pick a product that is doing very well. This makes some sense, since if a product is doing well, you know that it’s sales-page is converting visitors into buyers and that it’s a product addressing a real demand.
However, the more popular a product, the more competition there is for it. With the most popular products, you will be up against an army of other Internet marketers trying to sell it.
Combine this with one of the keyword research tips and it spells catastrophy: The tip is to simply pick the product name as your keyword (or perhaps the product name plus “info” or “review” or something along those lines).
Let me make this very clear: If you pick a popular (high gravity) ClickBank product and try to rank for the product name with a Sniper Site, you will be disappointed. There are very savvy marketers shooting for those keywords and without a very strong link-building system, your mini-site won’t ever show up on the first page of the search results.
Conclusion
I’m not saying that Google Sniper doesn’t work. It does and it is a valid and very interesting system. But it relies on you finding a keyword that a sniper site can has a chance at ranking for. To find such keywords, you will have to do some research, because popular product names just aren’t suited at all.
Overall, GSniper is very well put together and I can recommend it. It’s just that one little element that I fear will lead to some disappointments, especially if people new to online marketing follow it to the word.
