First, a word about the Google Search engine: Google is one of the most popular search engines on the Internet. Not only is Google’s search engine the absolute largest of its kind, the company focuses on making web information easy to access and even easier to find. Google has designed a unique system and the search engine has yet to be surpassed in terms of the information it provides. Google has grown immensely since its early beginning in 1996 and it will continue to be a predominant force on the Internet. Furthermore, because Google offers easy access to immediate information, they own one of the top Internet search engines in the world. Thus, it would serve a webmaster well to become familiar with the Google PageRank process-the Google PageRank is an algorithm that is based on inbound links and other factors and will ultimately determine the location of listing of your website in the Google Search Engine.
What precisely is Google PageRank?
Google PageRank is a process the search engine’s uses as a way of selecting sites to answer specific queries. Basically, when an Internet user submits a query, the Google search engine will attempt to match websites to the query that has been posed. Yet, there is a bit more to this simple science than the act of submitting a query suggests. Rather, behind the scenes, Google uses specific algorithms to determine if a site specifically address a web user’s needs by analyzing the content of a site by keyword and by the number of inbound links associated with the site-every inbound link is viewed as a vote and the more votes one has, in conjunction with the more keywords one has, the higher their Google PageRank is.

You bet it does-the higher your Google PageRank is the higher on a search engine’s listing your website will appear. Thus, if you are looking for top billing, especially in a search engine as popular as the one Google offers, you will definitely want to maximize your efforts of getting your website visible and improving your PageRank is the best way to accomplish such a task. Moreover, the higher you appear on the search engine listing offered by Google, or many other search engines, the easier your website is to find. Essentially this equates to more web traffic for your website and if you are running an online business, more web traffic ultimately means more profit for you.

Google Caffeine- challenges for SEO professionals
Google Caffeine- challenges for SEO professionals
The hottest debate raging on presently among webmasters is the pros and cons of the new Google Caffeine, which is being claimed to be a better search index, capable of providing fresher search results than the Google’s previous index, and also to deal with the vast information being added constantly in social portals like Facebook and Twitter. SEO pros have a challenging task ahead of them, in order to orient their search engine optimization strategies to suit the new search parameters of the new Google Caffeine search engine index.
Not too long back, Google was content with updating its search engine index once every month. This meant that every fresh content added to the web appeared in Google search results after considerable time, often after the relevance of the matter ceased to exist. A case in study were the 9/11 attacks on the American Trade Center, when Google was found highly lacking in broadcasting the latest news over the web. This spurred the search engine giant in to action, and it realized the importance of real time web updates. Google Caffeine was thus developed keeping in mind the need to live up to ever increasing users’ and web masters’ expectations to catch the latest content the instant it is published.
Google Caffeine focuses on updating its database on a continuous basis, and also appears to have higher crawling properties. The result is that you may expect to find your search page results quite different from the earlier, for the same keyword, each time you log in. Instead of crawling the entire web at once, Google Caffeine crawls small portions and updates its index constantly, immediately publishing the relevant content which meets all the white-hat search engine optimization requirements.
So what strategies should SEO professionals adopt while working with Google Caffeine? Though Google Caffeine provides fast updates of its database, it will be selective of the matter which is to be published on priority. Websites having a higher page rank will be crawled faster than the others. In addition, news feeds and blogs will be updated ahead of other sites.
Google Caffeine has incorporated a toolbar section for blog listings both above and below the search results, reiterating its affinity for quality content. Web pages reviewed, linked and shared vide social networking and bookmarking sites like Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon and MySpace will also get instant visibility, which in turn will ensure more conversions. This is quite understandable, since as the Google SERPs are a major revenue earner for Google, it aims to display the most quality, the most relevant and popular web pages in its results. For the same reason, expect on-page search engine optimization factors like unique content, titles, page navigation, keyword density, alt tags, meta tags, page views to rank your website higher in Google Caffeine. Website speed will also be an important factor for higher rankings.
With Google Caffeine, Semantic searches have become the order of the day. Properly researched SEO keywords and their strategic placement in the web pages will be helpful to get a place in relevant search results.
With Google improving its algorithms with a view of encouraging genuine, quality and relevant web pages in its search results, it is clear that short cut tactics in search engine optimization would simply not do. What needs to be seen in future is whether Google Caffeine will place greater importance to keyworded domains, i.e. domain names which have the relevant keyword embedded in them. SEO professionals reason that keyworded domains will have the searched keywords in their backlinks, thus bringing them to the top of the search results.

How To Do The Ppc Optimization Process?
How To Do The Ppc Optimization Process?
PPC optimization is an ongoing process. There are certain things you are going to do in a circular type pattern, meaning you start back over every week refining your ppc campaign, performance, and refining your results as well as testing eveything out. Optimization requires setting it up and measuring it against your business objectives. The following week you go back in and refine again.
Optimizing ppc campaigns is circular in its nature; you are looking for what has changed. This is the essence of ppc optimization. You are only looking for what has changed, at one data range to another and one date range to the next. You are looking for what has changed because the internet is always changing. In addition, there are always new competitors entering the market. Such changes also include new keyword trends that emerge. For instance, about 25% of all search queries every day are brand new.
The internet is expanding. There is more meaning implied in keywords which can shift at any given moment. For example, say you have a campaign that you have had for a little while and one of the keywords is “income”. Initially, this seems pretty obvious; income is income. But, when spring time comes along, suddenly, income is related to taxes. Thus, most people doing search queries on income or anything related to income, 80% of the results are going to have something related to taxes. Thus, the meaning of the word “income” has shifted to mean taxes. What this should tell you is, if you are not watching your campaign performance, you will start to receive unqualified traffic and your campaign will no longer be targeted. This damages your ROI and profitability due the attraction of non-targeted traffic to your site. You have to watch your campaigns so you can catch any shifts.
Even Google’s algorithm changes often. Everything moves at a lightening pace. The reason you optimize and the reason you do optimize as a process is because it allows you to stay on top of any changes that take place. Plus, there is the added benefit that optimization, if done correctly, improves your performance. You will continue to take advantage of all of the opportunities that are presented to you.First Step In PPC Optimization:
The first step to optimization is to continually test new markets. Testing is included as part of the circular pattern in optimization. Twenty five percent of all keyword queries are new. Keywrod trends affect the outcome of everything. Thus, if you are not watching to determine what the market is doing today, you are probably missing new markets or new ways that people are searching for your products or services. You may even be missing out on new opportunities and locations of where markets are gathering in online social communities and blogs. These are areas where you could be doing content advertising.
There is always going to be a new opportunity and the only way to continually get more market share and to get more traffic, more leads, sales, and profits out of Google, is going to require that you test new markets and expand out into these new markets.
In a brand new ppc campaign, you are doing a lot of unknown things; such as, using keywords that you have done some research on, but you are not sure whether they are going to work. For example, you have a new website and you have no idea how the landing page is going to convert; this is an unknown factor. This is why it is essential that you are always testing these factors and unknowns to find the knowns and continue with your progress.
A brand new Google campaign is going to require a huge amount of testing, even if it uses branded keywords, because you are still going to have to test all of the measurements we stated above. You are going to test to see where the traffic spots are. You are going to test to observe your competitors. You should be testing the whole system.
The second step in optimizing ppc is going to require that you monitor your campaigns on a daily basis. You especially want to monitor you test campaigns. Test campaigns are going to be the most prone to bleeding ad dollars. The reason being that if they are brand new and you are testing, 90% of what you are doing, is not going to work. This is because with keywords, which is true of any kind of direct response marketing, which Google is, is similar to direct mail. With direct mail, you are looking for a 3% conversion rate. This is also very similar on keyword search. If you put a lot of keywords in, some will drive traffic and sales, while others won’t do anything, some will not have any market, and no one is searching for them. Others are going to be very competitive. This could lead to you having to take your time in order to get market share. There are also going to be keywords that will cost too much.Second Step In PPC Optimization:
Step two is going to require you to be in your campaigns every day, monitoring your campaigns and determining which ones are working; especially in a test campaign. The newer the campaign, the more frequently you should monitor it. When you are monitoring your campaign, you are looking for action. You are looking at your campaign to gain some insight so you can take some action.
Now, the question you may have is what type of action is required? You can’t do much on a daily basis except stop what is bleeding your ad dollars. So, when you go into your campaign, you are either pausing or killing the keywords and ad groups on a daily basis in a test campaign that has 20 or 30 clicks. Usually, the keywords or ad groups are experiencing terrible conversion rates, a high cost per conversion and they are not producing a lot of leads. Quite possibly, they may have a terrible CTR that you should pay attention to where certain keywords are getting a lot of impressions, but not a lot of clicks. Later, you will need to work on your ad copy, but you could be experiencing a situation where, although you have been optimizing your campaign and you still are not able to get your metrics up. In a situation like this, you have no choice but to shut it down.
But, most times on a test campaign, you just want to look at the conversion data daily and plug all of the wholes that are bleeding ad dollars on the keywords and campaigns that are not converting to leads and sales opportunities in your pipeline.
Third Step In PPC Optimization:
So, now when you move past, testing, monitoring, and plugging the holes, the third step in optimizing ppc campaigns is to evaluate what is working and what is not once a week. This is when we return to the performance metrics. To get the performance metrics that are meaningful, you need a significant amount of data. This step can not be completed off a couple of clicks, impressions, or conversions. The more data you have, the more concise you insights are, the more likely that the known is no longer an educated guess.
You can get performance data daily if you have a very high traffic campaign, ad group or keyword. Improving the performance data is a daily activity. But if you are looking at overall improvements, which include landing pages, ad copy revisions, and are improving the metrics rapidly, you need to do this once a week. Again, on high traffic terms, when you trying to burn in a position or do something else aggressively, you should be monitoring your performance on a daily basis. It is only if the data provides you enough insight that helps you to know what to do next.
Your entire account should be optimized once a week. At the account level, you should be looking for all the key performance indicators mentioned in this article. Of course, you first step should be reviewing you key metrics once a week. This includes improving your CTR, conversion rates, and finding new keywords and new markets. These actions should be done every week. The keywords that are converting to the most leads are the ones you should use to find new keywords and new markets.
Once a month, you should be looking at your Return On Investment (ROI). This is key because your ROI determines your business success. When monitoring your ROI, you are looking for ways to make more profits. The third ste is a different process. Like your performance indicators, this step requires that you have a lot of data. It has to be conclusive data. Once you see that a campaign has converted to 20 or 30 leads per day, then you have some pretty conclusive data that the campaign is a lead generator. We refer to this step as profit mining. You mine out the top performing keywords by re restructuring your campaigns to separate you highest converting keywords and placing those high performing keywords into their own campaign, thus allowing you to optimize them to get the most out of them.
Just for the keywords and ad groups that have proven to produce leads, you want to remove the terms, keywords, and ad groups, text ads, and capture pages and place everything into a separate campaign. Once you move them into a separate campaign, you can then increase the budget and increase the amount of time you spend optimizing. This allows you to invest your time in the right place, but more importantly, you can put your money into a campaign that is a lead generator or money maker. These campaigns, which are known to convert, are labeled and assigned a much higher budget. By increasing your budget on you top performing keywords and ad groups, you are increasing the ability to generate more leads and more money because you have already optimized the key metrics for traffic, cost, and quality. These are also campaigns where you understand their behavior. The campaigns could be a buying behavior or converting behavior and with such behaviors, you want to maximize how much money you spend in that campaign. You want as many conversions as possible. Again, this is a step that should be done once a month.
In essence, by doing this, you are creating different high performing campaigns that are separated based on their behavior. For example, you could have a high converting campaign for leads Another one for sales and sales ready leads, who are leads that are calling you and following up with you. You could have several campaigns in the sales funnel for your introductory sale or low price sale and your top tier sales, which have the highest profit margin.
This way you are tracking which of your campaigns are producing the most results and this is done by separting those key performers into their own campaigns where they can be optimized and maximized. This is a big part of the overall ppc optimization process.
After this step, you then want to track these high producing campaigns at least once a month. As you can see, the ppc optimization process does not happen in one day or one week, or one month. This is why optimization is often referred to as a system of testing, monitoring, and evaluating. Improving your campaigns is a circular pattern over days, weeks, months and then returning to step one where you compare the two date ranges and look for gains or losses, so you can continue to determine the appropriate actions to either stay on track or get back on track.

Multiply Your Google Adsense Income With 4 Adsense Tips & Tricks
Multiply Your Google Adsense Income With 4 Adsense Tips & Tricks
For those who do not know what Google AdSense is, it is basically an advertising program by Google that if you have a website, you can sign up for to become a publisher (where you publish ads on your website) and thereafter, insert a few lines of code in your website. These lines of codes that you insert in your website will be where Google AdSense will display ads on. And whenever someone clicks on any of the ads, you’ll get paid.
In this post, I’m going to share with you 4 very simple AdSense tips and tricks that I personally use to help multiply my AdSense income.
1. Color Scheme
When it comes to selecting the color scheme of your ad units, you would want them to blend into your website, and not have a separate color scheme for it, which tells people that that is an AdSense unit. By doing so, people will skip through the whole ad unit altogether and you will not be able to make any money from it.
You will want to make sure the color of the clickable links of your ads is the same as the clickable links in your website. You may want to use the color ‘blue’ for these clickable links because people have been trained to identify clickable links as being in ‘blue’. So, if your links are in ‘blue’, you will tend to receive more clicks on your ads.
As for the text of the ad, you want the font type and size to be the same as what you are using for text in your website – This will allow your ad units to blend in nicely into the whole website (by doing so will get you more ad clicks, and more income for you).
2. Remove Border
You do not want to keep the borders in your ad units to tell people that they are ads. While it is not possible to remove the border totally, what you can do is use the same color that you use for the background of your website for your ad unit’s border.
3. Text Or Image Ads?
When it comes to text or image ads, I personally have better earnings with text ads vs image ads. The reason is because people have their eyes trained to skip image ads (also known as banner ads), unless that banner ad is especially eye catching that it sucks in their attention). But most of the times people just skip through these image ads totally.
Therefore, I would recommend that you serve only text ads in your ad units.
4. Above The Fold
Most of the times the ads that are clicked on are those that are above the fold (meaning the upper half of your website that is visible to your visitors without them having to scroll down).
I would recommend that you place your ad units in the following positions (to get more earnings):
i. Top Of The Sidebar
ii. Immediately Below Website Header
iii. On Top Of Each Individual Post, Immediately After The Post Title
The following are 4 tips that I am personally using to help me generate a good amount of money through Google AdSense, and I hope these tips will help multiply your AdSense income as well… Good luck!

About Google Adwords for Search
About Google Adwords for Search
Whether you are a home improvement contractor trying to generate more leads and more business online or just an entrepreneur interested in making money online, you probably will eventually come to the conclusion that you need to somehow get more traffic to your site in order to achieve your goals. It all comes back to traffic.
You invariably look to Google. Google is the largest Search Engine in the world, owning over 65% of the online search market. As you continue to learn about Google, you realize that they offer much more than just search services. They actually supply an abundant amount of tools and information to webmasters.
These tools help you to track statistics of visitors to your site, make your site more Google (and other search engines) friendly, register your company address, phone number, website, and other company information in Google’s free online business directory and the list goes on. The information consists of Google’s help pages and forums that allow users to help each other and where Google employees organize the info and supply answers.
Building your website with Google in mind and with Google’s help is a great way to build a site, especially if you are looking to generate longstanding organic traffic (visitors to your website that find your site through search engines). This traffic is usually not achieved right away, however.
So, the most effectice way to actually get traffic immediately to your site is to pay for it. It’s call Pay Per Click (PPC) Advertising. One example of PPC Advertising is Google Search Adwords Program. When you perform a search on Google the results appear on the left of the page. However, there are also ads that appear on the same page as the results. They are either above and or below the results, highlighted in a pinkish orange background and they also appear along the right side of the page.
These ads are links, just like any search result. However, if the searcher clicks on one of these ads, the person that owns the website of the ad gets charged. These ads are specifically designed by the owners of the respective websites and they are submitted to Google to appear within the ads sections when people perform searches for keywords that the website owners specify. You can also run ads based on the location of the searcher.
For example, if you are a contractor that specializes in emergency repairs in texas, you could create ads that are designed to appear in the ads sections when people perform searches with keywords such as “emergency + repairs + texas,” and you could specify that your visitors actually be located in Texas. So, you would be getting visitors to your site from people who live within your service radius and are looking for the services you supply (targeted traffic).
The cost you pay per click depends on the competitiveness of your market. You can imagine that you will have to pay substancially more for a click on a search like “make + money + online” than you would for “science + information + resource + guide.” You could pay anywhere from $ .50 to .00 per click or more.
The actual cost is determined by the market. The more people are willing to pay for clicks of certain search words, the higher the price will be and this actual amount will vary from day to day and even slightly from click to click, depending on the amount of competition. So, it truly is a pure market system.
When you are deciding on how much you are willing to pay for a click, you are able to see “what the click is going for.” So, you can decide if it is wroth it or not, before you pay for it. You may not want to pay per click for a certain keyword search but you may be willing to pay .50 for another, depending on how you value those particular keyword searches.
Bidding on clicks and creating ads through Google is all essentially handled and tracked by Google. You do not need any special internet knowledge to set up an Adwords account. It is relatively simple and user friendly and there is plenty of online help.
One thing to keep in mind is that you should look at your internet marketing effort just as you would any other marketing or advertising programs. You should designate a budget and expect a certain return on your investment. Still, you may want to tweak your ads and or website before you exhaust your entire budget on the same thing. Sometimes paying for traffic can, in the least, be a learning tool about how to improve your website. Once you find out what works, you can just stay plugged in and reap the rewards.

Google Instant is not Going to Last
Google Instant is not Going to Last
September 11, 2010 – The world of search engines was turned upside down this week when Google debuted Google Instant. This was quietly unveiled with little warning or fanfare until was already online. You may have noticed that when you type in your recent Google searches, search results begin showing immediately and change as you are typing. Search suggestions also show up quicker and more prominent below the search box as Google receives more characters (information) from the searcher. It is one of those amazing technological achievements that we have come to expect from Google, an information technology giant that can never be accused of resting on its laurels (hello Microsoft!). There is no doubt that this will help people who have are searching for ambiguous or open ended phrases.
So, of course, I am about to tell you why it is fantastic and going to revolutionize the search industry as we know it. Errr, not exactly. In fact, I expect Google to scrap the concept altogether sooner than later for the following reasons:
Reason 1 – It is a gimmick. While Google still dominates market share, Bing has been generating a tremendous amount of positive buzz over the past year. With the merger between Microsoft and Yahoo and the fact that Yahoo now runs on Bing’s search algorithm, Google has to recognize that Bing is now a legitimate (if still distant) threat. Google has even changed its interface to mimic that of Bing’s. Google Instant pushes the company back into the forefront of the search engine headlines. Most of Google’s buzz in recent months has been more related to cell phones and China. This is their first major search innovation in quite some time (Google Caffeine was huge as well, but unnoticed by the layperson).
Reason 2 – It is annoying. Most people know what they are searching for they type it. Being told a number of things that one does not want to search for as they are typing comes off as a bit trite. In addition, the search results begin showing immediately. Just because I type an “I” for “Indianapolis Colts Receivers” does not mean that I want to see IBM showing up right off the bat. Does Google really think they know me that well that they can predict my query based upon a single letter?
Reason 3 – Eventually, it is going to cost Google money. It is not much of a secret that Google gets a large percentage of its revenue from Adwords (pay-per-click). Remember when stock analysts could not understand how Google was making money? That was how. But Google Instant de-emphasizes Adwords results. The suggested search results showing up below tend to draw the user’s eye to the organic (free and natural) results. If users routinely click on these instead of the paid ads, Google does not receive any pay-per-click revenue. If that happens at even a slightly greater rate than it currently occurs, Google will feel it in the bottom line. Should that occur, Google will turn off instant twice as quickly as it was turned on.
Time will tell if Instant is a smash hit or Google’s version of the Edsel. I just do not see it as the slam dunk that Google will have you believe it to be. At the very least, there are a few chinks in the armor that will need to be hammered out for long term success.
