Do you Google? 5 easy ways to enhance your search and really find what you are looking for

Do you Google? 5 easy ways to enhance your search and really find what you are looking for

Internet without searching is like a car without wheels. You won’t get too far. Using the same analogy – would you rather have a car with new tires or tires that you found on a junk yard? Both would work, but the new ones will just work much better. And the same applies to the way you search. But don’t worry, to go from junk yard searches to brand new Michelin’s won’t cost you anything. All you need is to ask Google nicely. Here’s 5 simple queries that will make Google cooperate nicely.

1. Enter keywords you want to exclude from your search.

Syntax: search terms -word to exclude

Consider this – you are looking for online marketing opportunities. Entering simple ‘online marketing opportunities’ into Google will give you results for everything that is even remotely related to online marketing opportunities. But what if you only want to see results for affiliate marketing, GPT, e-commerce etc but not for MLM? You can refine your search like this: online marketing opportunities -MLM. This will tell Google to exclude anything related to MLM and display results only for all other online marketing opportunities. One thing to remember – the syntax uses a space between your search keyword and the minus sign. If you do not include the space, it will only act as hyphenated word.

2. Search for exact phrase.

Syntax: “keyword phrase”

If you are looking for an exact phrase, without substituting any part of the phrase with synonyms, and do not want Google to insert any other words between your phrase, simply put double quotes around you phrase. By doing so, Google will only display results that match your phrase 100%, and match the word order of your phrase exactly.

3. Search for exact match.

Syntax: +keyword

This is similar to double quotes, but allows you to specify a single word from your phrase that you want to match 100%. Consider this: affiliate marketing opportunities +NY. The results will match NY exactly and will not use any synonyms for the keyword NY. It will not display results where NY is spelled out as New York, NYC etc. One thing to remember: The plus sign mus be right before the word you want to match, with no space in between. If you place a space between the + and the word, it will act as query addition, not as exact match.

4. Substitute words with wildcard.

Syntax: *

Many times, you do not know the exact phrase. In that case, you can substitute parts of the * wildcard. This can be also useful if you want to include several terms into one phrase. Consider this: affiliate * opportunities. This will result in Google substituting the * sign with any words. For example, it will display searches that include word ‘online’, ‘offline’, ‘marketing’, ‘money making’ etc.

5. Search within a website.

Syntax: keyword site:NameOfTheWebsite

With this search you can search for your keyword within a specific web site. The search results will not display any results from any other site, even if the results are the same (for example, the same article posted on different web sites). Consider this: affiliate marketing site:WarriorForum. This displays all results that include keywords affiliate marketing from WarriorForum web site. Normally, you can perform these searches on forums themselves, however, this syntax works also for sites and blogs that do not have search implemented in them. And there is one more cool trick you can do with this – you can search within all web sites with specific extension. For example affiliate marketing site:.edu will display results for affiliate marketing only from .edu web sites.

Use these five simple queries, combine them and experiment with them, and soon enough, you and Google searches will be in sync. You will save lots of time sorting through results you were not looking for. And as we all know – time is money.

Internet search engine giants Google have once again updated their service to bring searching within search engines into the modern world.

Google have announced that they have rolled out Google Instant, a new addition to the software that means that as you type your search term into the search box, Google searches as you type.

Although many think that this is a minor addition to their service, a closer look means that you can see exactly how helpful it can be as well as the amount of time that you will save while using the latest addition.

Instant searching isn’t brand new technology with a number of websites already offering such a service, domain availability tools coming to mind.

Okay so they are one of the biggest powerhouses within the internet world and its not exactly making the results flood to your screen simply by thinking about them just yet but the Google Instant alteration is a great one in our book.

So what does Google Instant mean for your search results?

Well now that Google are searching for your keywords/search term while you type, you will see a number of sites jumping throughout the listings, so for example a site that features within the top search result spot for one term might not feature at the top for the plural version of the term.

This means that websites are getting that additional exposure that simply wasn’t available while the results were what can only be referenced to as static, static referencing to the fact that they were still after the user had hit the search button.

As well as Google searching for the results that you need while you type, they also try to offer you assistance in your search, predicting what you might be looking for.

This is great as is able to help with the spelling and search term selection for users who are uncertain about what they are searching for exactly.

Google Adsense: How You Can Keep Easily Your Earnings Up?

Google Adsense: How You Can Keep Easily Your Earnings Up?

Users of AdSense know that although some people can make remarkable amounts of money – one person claimed to bring in ,000 per month! – most people struggle to get started because they do not really know what they are doing. The AdSense tips below will help you move closer to the former group by gaining some important knowledge.
Affordable Marketing
One problem some people run into is they can’t afford the costs for high-volume search terms so they never get enough traffic to their site and their AdSense income remains relatively low. The good news is there is a way around this problem.for more details www.thegoogleincome.com.First, you have to focus on building some great content around more affordable search terms, perhaps choose words that are synonymous with the more expensive terms. Now here’s an example of great AdSense tips: as you know you earn more from the AdSense ads associated with higher value terms. So add a link to the bottom of the more affordable terms’ pages that leads readers directly to the higher cost term’s page. That way you can drive traffic to your content more affordable but also boost your chances of getting the better commissions.
Add Images
If you like the above AdSense tips, here’s another good one: use graphics near your ads. You know that when you visit a site your ads are drawn towards the images and graphics. That means if you place something like this on your page near the location of your ad visitors’ attention will be drawn to the ad and that will increase the chances they will click on it. Now do be careful about adding in too many images on your page because this could reduce load times and actually drive visitors away altogether.
Always Track Ads
Even though you don’t have much control over which ads are placed on your site through the Google program, tracking is one of the best AdSense tips available.like as www.yourgoogleincome.com. That’s because you’d be surprised at how big of a difference can be made in the results when an ad is moved from near the top to near the bottom or vice versa, for example. You could try changing the colors, removing the borders, incorporating the ad into content, and other alterations that could positively impact the performance of the ad. Tracking can also help you decide whether or not to adjust your own keywords in hopes of getting more relevant ads which will be a bigger hit with site visitors.

Operate Multiple Sites
While one tip is good, multiple AdSense tips are better. The same is true with your websites. Having one site up and running with the Google service is great but the way to really increase your profit potential is by operating multiple sites. Of course, more sites also means more work but the earnings you could be making would make the effort worth it. Plus, most of the work that needs to be done could be done easily from home or could be outsourced to freelancers.

10 Tips to Help Beginners Become More Comfortable with the Internet

10 Tips to Help Beginners Become More Comfortable with the Internet

Today (free of charge, zero money down, no shipping and handling) I’m providing you with a list of tips that, when followed, will cause your aura to radiate “INTERNET EXPERT” like a big, bright neon sign.

I suggest at least a modest attempt at making the following practices somewhat automatic for you. At the least, devotion to these practices will keep others’ eye-rolls, snickers, and impatient sighs at bay. At the most, you may find yourself being carried about on your co-workers shoulders all day, caught in an outpouring of endearing stares, listening to shouts and cheers of respect somewhere along the lines of “Hear hear for the Internet Expert!”

TIP #1: Never ever use the terms “AOL” and “Internet” as if they were completely interchangeable.
Example no-no: Someone asks if your company has a website. You reply, “Oh yeah! We’re totally on AOL!” Big awful buzzer sound here. AOL is NOT the Internet; AOL is simply one of many browsers that allows you to maneuver about the Internet. It is also a company that likes to put holographic CDs covered with infomercial-like promotions in post offices in attempts of persuading more people into using their services.

TIP #2: Click correctly.
When you’re surfing about the Internet, you likely get from place to place using hyperlinks (a.k.a. “links”). You should be aware that links require nothing more than a single click from the left button on your mouse. Double (or triple . . . or quadruple) clicking and right-clicking on links when you simply want to be taken to a different location are a few of the primary causes of those behind-your-back eyerolls you may not know people have been sending your way. Remember this: With links on the Internet, “one-click, that’s it.”

TIP #3: Remember that search engines are for searching, not for typing in complete URLs.
This means that you do NOT need to head over to Google or Yahoo Search or any other search engine to reach the specific website you already know you want to visit. Instead of typing “www.google.com” into your address bar and then typing in the URL of the site you want to visit in the search box. . . just SKIP going to Google and type the URL of the site you want to visit in the address bar instead!

TIP #4: Understand the term “download” and know how to pull files off the Internet onto your computer when you need/would like them. If you are unclear about the term ‘downloading’, take a look at the simple explanation offered right here.

TIP #5: Use an Internet browser that’s not older than your average kindergartner.
I’ll tell you right now: if you’re using something along the lines of Netscape 1.0 (born 1994) or Internet Explorer 2.0 (born 1996)—you’re seriously not appearing Internet Savvy. To be completely honest, even the use of AOL or Internet Explorer 5 to navigate the web won’t help your image (or your overall Internet experience) all that much either. To appear savvy, consider downloading and using something a bit more recent, such as Internet Explorer 7, or Firefox 3.

TIP #6:
When someone’s surfing the Internet with you and they ask you to “open up a new window,” do NOT furrow your brow and say “huh??”.
This will most definitely not make you appear Internet savvy. Instead simply reply (in an oh-so-suave tone, of course) “Why, of course!”. Then either hold down the “Ctrl” and then the “N” keys on your keyboard OR click on the “File” menu button at the top of the browser screen, then click on “Open New Window.” Many people find that having more than one browser window open at once is extremely handy for viewing multiple websites simultaneously. Try it out.

TIP #8: Whenever a friend or coworker asks a question that no one in the near vicinity can answer, calmly say “Oh I know that.”
Then excuse yourself for just a moment, run to your computer, hop on the Internet, access Google (or your favorite search engine), look up the answer, and return to the questioning party with an eloquent, detailed explanation. Simply being aware that the Internet is home to a mind-boggling amount of information about pretty much everything instantly makes you appear more savvy in general to those around you. It may also encourage you to search the Internet with more regularity, which in turn boosts your true Internet savvy—not simply the appearance of it.

TIP #9: DO NOT click on flashing advertisements that: a) claim you’re the sites 1,000,000th visitor, b) ask you what your favorite color is and show you 4 or 5 circles or hearts or something of the sort, c) state that you were randomly chosen from all site visitors to win 0, etc. etc. etc.
People who are Internet savvy know that those type of advertisements are nothing more than tremendous wastes of time.

TIP #10: For heaven’s sake: always remember that the Internet does not bite.
So don’t act like it does—especially when you’re in the company of others. Doing so will not make you appear Internet savvy.

And that, my friends, is a list of tips that should help you on your way. If you don’t actually become Internet-savvy, well then, I suppose at the very least . . . you can at least appear it. Have fun!

At Least 7 Success Tips For A More Profitable Year, Online

At Least 7 Success Tips For A More Profitable Year, Online

“I learn something new every week – do you?”

Well that’s how I started this article in 2003, after my very first successful year online, as a full-time affiliate marketer.

Whilst each year following continues to throw up new challenges, there are still several ways of ‘doing things right’, that can improve your chances of success this year, whatever line of business you are in.

So what follows are essential tips to help you do just that.

So let’s begin with an obvious tip, shall we.

1. Plan

Plan what work you’re going to do, and stick to the plan.

A plan could consist of a set of daily activities – reply to your emails, visit a forum or two, create more content for your site – or it could consist of a set of activities you want to complete in a given month.

Whatever techniques or strategies you use, make sure you plan what you’re going to do first.

2. Try not to rely on one income source

Try not to rely on one source of income, or one website, or even one marketing strategy (only using Google AdWords, or only writing articles for example).

I have been relying on getting free visitors from my natural listings on Google for far too long. And now, due to recent changes in the way Google works, this strategy is failing.
Do you rely too much on Google, or a particular marketing strategy?

And what would happen if this strategy suddenly stopped working?

Make sure you put some alternative strategies in place, some alternative pillars of income, if you like.

3. Commit to learning

Commit to continuing to learn on a regular basis.

You can do this via an online forum, via a free ebook or website, or you can buy a suitable internet marketing product/service from a source that you trust and respect.

You can even find your favourite source of free articles and read the latest every week.

4. ‘Your attitude is everything’

Your attitude to success (and failure) is all important.

There are plenty of ways to succeed online, as you may well know; ultimately, however, what you do is not as important, as *how* you do it.

I’m talking about your attitude. A positive attitude, combined with persistence, and a willingness to keep on learning, will seriously improve your chances of success.

Here are a few pointers, to turn around your attitude, should it be necessary:

“Whether you think you can or can’t, you’re right!” – Henry Ford

“Stop wasting time on things you’re not passionate about.” – Phil Wiley from ozemedia.com

“Successful people KNOW the best way to ensure *their* success is by helping other people become successful… You earn money *only* through satisfying the needs and wants of *others*” – Boris Vene and Nikola Grubisa from TheMillionaireMind.com

(Note: after reading that statement I decided to create a helpful guide to buying digital cameras, for one of my affiliate sites. It helped both my visitors, who had a helpful guide to what is a somewhat confusing purchase, and it helped my business (via Google adsense advertising).)

“The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.” – John Wesley Powell

Etc.

Get your attitude right, simple as that.

5. Continue doing things right

The tips below are some that featured in the original version of this article. Basically, if you get things right once then make sure you keep on doing them right.

6. Get right to the point with your website.

What is it’s main purpose? What is it’s secondary purpose?

7. Spend time on activities that make you money.

If you don’t know what activities these are, then find out.

8. Words still matter on the web.

Learn to write copy that is both clear and helpful to your site visitor, written with your voice, AND that the search engines like.

9. Backup your work

Backup your work on a regular basis.

This is a very easy thing to state, but a very difficult thing to implement. We all know that we should backup our files, our mailing lists, our databases, our websites, but how many of us do it!

So this tip applies to everyone, including me.

Again, backup your work.

Don’t just nod your head in agreement – do it!

Okay, that’s enough.

It’s now over to you to integrate these successful tips and strategies into your business life.

Keep learning, keep using the right tools, and keep persevering, and you will succeed online.

Wishing you your most profitable year, yet.

Adwords Keyword Research Tools & Tips to Find Profitable Keywords

Adwords Keyword Research Tools & Tips to Find Profitable Keywords

Adwords keyword research tools are valuable and essential to anyone using Google Adwords to promote their websites. Most people think that such keyword research tools are only capable of pulling out huge keyword lists to be used in their Adwords pay-per-click (PPC) campaign. Little do they know that these tools are also effective in digging out useful information about keywords that could be used for other PPC campaigns and even for search engine optimization. Let’s learn several useful Adwords keyword research tips and why Adwords keyword research tools are so powerful in reaping lists of profitable keywords.

One quick keyword research tip before starting a PPC campaign is to build a keyword list of at least 1000 keywords. Keyword research is necessary. Brainstorm and start off with a few keywords, perhaps 5 main keywords associated with the product. You may wish to use several free online Adwords keyword research tools such as:

1. Overture Keyword Suggestion Tool

Search for the main keywords and copy down the lists of related-keywords in a Notepad file. Dig 1 more level into each related keyword to find variations/extensions of the root keywords. These keywords are what we call long-tails. Example, “best online Adwords keyword research tools” is a long tail from the root keyword phrase “Adwords keyword research tools”.

2. Google Search Engine

Find and visit each of the top 10 search engine results for your targeted main keywords. Go to your internet browser under “View”, click on “Page Source” to display the meta-keywords. Copy them. These are golden keywords and phrases that expert webmasters have painstakingly researched. They are yours free.

3. Google Adwords Keyword Research Tool

This is the web address https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal. This free Adwords keyword research tool is a handy tool. Make use of the “Site-Related” tab to make interesting discovery of keywords targeted by top ranking websites. You would be pleasantly surprised at some of the keywords which you would never have thought of.

The second Adwords keyword research tip is a sneaky. It is like an espionage mission – I will teach you how to spy on competitors who are advertising in Adwords. With your keyword list, key in one main keyword and take note of the websites that show up in the Adwords text ad on the right in Google. Repeat this for all the 5 main keywords and see if there is a common website that shows up all the time.

Target this website to spy on. Open a Microsoft Excel document and list down all the keywords in your list that this competing website shows up for. Observe the list of keywords over a period of 1 – 4 weeks and see if this website still appears for each of the keyword. Eliminate those which dropped out and retain those that it is still targeting. There is good reason to do so as there is a likelihood that these are profitable keywords/phrases that continue to make money for the website. This explains why it is paying big bucks to stay within top 5 in the Adwords for these keywords.

Did you know that some expert marketers are employing these secret Adwords keyword research tips and tricks to earn outrageous amounts of money? Not only so, they are using Adwords keyword research tools to automate these otherwise manual and tedious tasks. Imagine how painful and time-zapping to do this for one product, not to mention repeating them to dozens of websites and products. Learn how you can be like them and start using secret keyword research tips from my free ebook which you can download at my blog. You would also discover which Adwords keyword research tools can explode your earnings almost instantly.

“problem With Google Adwords? Try These Tips.”

“problem With Google Adwords? Try These Tips.”

Google Adwords is an advertising program used by Internet entrepreneurs all over the world. Google Adwords can be an effective way to reach potential subscribers and sell products. However, Google Adwords can sometimes pose obstacles.

For example, let’s say that you are running a Google Adwords campaign. The Google Adwords campaign works well when you set up a pay-per-click campaign using 250 keywords for your website. Initially, the minimum cost-per-click was .06 and the maximum cost-per-click was .10. You run the campaign for two days and your Google Adwords advertisements place high as #1.

Then a few days later you are stunned by Google’s response. Google says that you now have to pay a cost-per-click of .50. It leaves you to wonder how the cost-per-click suddenly sky rocketed. Are other advertisers paying for the same keyword phrase? Why is Google increasing the cost when you have very specific keywords?

Google has various rationales as to why they suddenly up the cost-per-click price. First of all, you may not pay .50 per click even though Google raised it to this new level. It depends on who else is bidding for the keyword. Therefore, you may actually end up paying much less per click. So don’t take the number at face value. You can accept the .50 per click value and watch it closely. Test it out.

What if you are uncomfortable with the high pay-per-click cost and don’t even want to risk trying it out? There are a few things you can do in this case. You can try switching from a “keyword targeted” strategy to a “site targeted” strategy.

Open up your Google Adwords campaign and “pause” the keyword targeted option. Activate the site targeted option. You can target specific sites regarding your topic. You can pick and choose what sites your advertisements will be on. The site targeted option is a little different from the keyword targeted option in that it does not run on a cost-per-click model. Instead, it is based on a cost-per-impression model. Running a site targeted strategy may be your best bet at combating high cost-per-click levels.

Another suggestion to alleviate Google Adwords problems is to try running a different advertising program called Adbrite at http://www.adbrite.com. Another option is to run a keyword advertising program on http://www.msn.com.

Remember, Google Adwords is a beneficial option, but not the only choice. Don’t give up. Test and tweak. Keep trying.

Make sure that ads associated with Google never appear in an unrequested pop-up. Don’t be talked into purchasing traffic for your site that may contain adware.

Respect the Google trademarks. Don’t use any Google trademarks or logos without their consent.

Don’t change the Adsense code. If you’re a pro at html, don’t assume you can add your own code. If you’re new to html, simply copy and paste the offered code. Don’t mess with it.
