Twitter Marketing And The Power Of Influence

Twitter Marketing And The Power Of Influence

You can call Twitter a micro-blogging platform or you can call it an instant messenger site. You may like Twitter or you can think of it as a time loss. Whatever how you call it and how you view it, Twitter is a tree-like community. A community has several characteristics and the ones which make it important for us is that people are connected.

Why is this important for you as a marketer? When you approach marketing in the classical manner what you get is you screaming loud and round around about your product. Individuals hear you and some purchase and most of them don’t. What do you get if you use Twitter as a marketing tool? What you get is amazing. You tweet once, everyone hears you. Not only that, but people re-tweet and people to which you never talked hear about your product as well and follower of the followers of your followers it too and so on and so on. What more can you ask than to invest such little effort and obtain such an echo?

The only problem you might have is to get people to actually follow you. And you want them to follow you and re-tweet all your announces. So what do you need to do to obtain such fans? The truth is that people follow other people who they look up to. You need to find a way to impose yourself, to demand respect, to get in touch with everyone but still keep the distance which says “You should look up to me”. Being a company is not that hard. People won’t be able to find things in common with you if you tweet as a company and not as an individual. They all perceive the company as something big and respectable so they will by default look up to you.

Using Twitter as a marketing tool is awesome and you will discover more gold than you’ve ever imagine. It’s completely free and the results you obtain are incomparable with the ones which you would obtain if you invested the same time and resources in a normal, old school campaign.

The most difficult thing is to maintain your influence. You need to appear strong, leader-like and respectable and yet don’t push people away from you and your products. This is the most hard to handle part of Twitter marketing and the ones which control it are the ones who succeed. Get in touch with your followers and treat them with the same respect they treat you. Offer them breaking promotions and discounts and make them feel as a community. When your fans connect with one another it is much more difficult to lose them.

Twitter Marketing in Your Internet Marketing Plan?

Twitter Marketing in Your Internet Marketing Plan?

Your Internet marketing Plan should include twitter marketing because of the volume of people signed up and willing to follow you, in exchange for you to follow them back. Internet Marketers are some of the most active tweeters because of what they do for a living on the internet and of course how much time they spend marketing and trying to generate leads and drum up business.

Re-Tweeting is also another important aspect of twitter and tweeting,  it will boost your standings with other twitters when they see you unselfishly re-tweet someone Else’s blog post or twitter post. You must be careful in doing so by making sure the information is of interest and news worthy. Twitters don’t really care what someone did last night or what they had for diner, they are looking for information that they can use in their internet marketing business. If you can provide that information to them, by either you writing the info or re-tweeting someone else’s information, again your status would be elevated in the eyes of your followers.

It’s becoming quite a bit easier for internet marketers to do twitter marketing because of the number of sites that now have some sort of social bookmarking available on their blog, or web page.  Just click on the re-tweet button and you just blasted, hopefully useful and interesting information to all your followers. It’s now just that easy.

Letting other tweeter’s get to know you is also important as to whether or not they may want to follow you. Update your profile with current information, plus you can add pictures of you and some of friends and family so your fellow twitters will know and understand that you are, in fact, a real person. Whether you’re tweeting for fun, business or it’s just a hobby, people like to do business with someone that they feel they know, like and trust, so open the profile door and let them have a peep at who you really are, and don’t be afraid to share a little personal information every now and then.

The Ins And Outs Of Google Optimization

The Ins And Outs Of Google Optimization

With the internet constantly evolving more and more companies from various sectors and fields have decided to present their services or products on internet websites. The success or failure of any internet based company relies heavily on website placement and visibility in search engine results pages, along with other factors. Currently there are two main search engines which are targeted by all SEO professionals and companies, Google and Yahoo. While Yahoo has proven to be able to provide good results, it is Google optimization that is continuing to be the first choice for a large number of search engine optimization companies from all over the world. Google optimization is primarily directed to increasing the number of visitors a website gets, but when coupled with different techniques Google optimization can also be used as a tool to increase sales, thus becoming a true marketing tool. Because search engines, in general, each have their own guidelines which professional optimizers must follow in order to achieve the best possible results, many companies specializing in website placement, have decided to make Google optimization their primary specialty. It is not a surprise that Google optimization is the main method to achieve an optimum website placement for websites, simply because of how this search engine was built and continuously refined to deliver its users with the best possible service in its niche. A company with a great website placement stands to draw numerous benefits which ultimately translate into a larger profit. If you have ever stopped and wondered why not do it yourself, you should know that Google optimization, as a way of improving website placement, has become a true service sector, and with the large number of companies operating in this sector it is pretty farfetched for anyone with no experience to try and compete with companies that have been operating in this sector since the beginning. The main idea behind Google optimization, apart of course from what has already been presented, is to help online company owners to surpass their competition. The general idea is that the more competitive a sector is the more time and funds a certain company will have to invest in order to achieve their desired website placement. However, it is not just about the number of companies operating in a sector, much more important is the strength of the companies currently occupying the spot you are aiming for. Since there have been many countermeasures deployed by most search engines in an effort to avoid the so called black hat Google optimization techniques, the genuine ones have been perfected to a level at which they are able to provide customer with great results, whilst still being cost effective. In terms of the techniques used by Google optimization companies, you should know that there are plenty. Some of the most effective and sought after techniques and services include organic link building, article and press release marketing, blog advertising, and many more. Choosing among the wide variety of available search engine optimization services depends solely on your final expectations, and more precisely visitor count, website placement, and so on.

Website Optimisation: The Impact Of Blended Real-Time Search So Far

Website Optimisation: The Impact Of Blended Real-Time Search So Far

Despite the initial hype surrounding the introduction of blended real-time search into internet search engines, many experts have begun to question its value to website optimisation.

Real time search has been widely criticised as a cause of SERP clutter, making pages appears chaotic and leaving the user struggling to decide which links may actually provide the information they are after.

And a recent survey by One Up Web showed the majority of internet users ignore real-time search results altogether.

Dave Winer, blogger at Scripting News, suggests this is because it is “impossible” to convey much information in 140 characters.

“So when a search hits a tweet you get at most a soundbite, telling you something you probably already knew. When you search you’re looking for information you don’t have but want,” he writes.

Meanwhile, author and blogger Nick Carr has been compiling the Realtime Chronicles blog about attempts to orient the web, and particularly search, around postings on Twitter.

“Web 2.0 was supposed to bring us a creative outpouring of ’social production’,” he states. “Instead it’s tossed us into the rapids of instant communication.”

These ‘rapids’, according to Mr Carr, have created a plethora of bite-sized updates and alerts, with the internet’s search engine giants locked in “a fierce competitive battle to speed up the stream”.

However, blended real-time search also has its fans.

The integration of Facebook and Twitter into Google SERPS means users can now find accurate, up-to-the-minute information for many of their search queries, according to Sam Tilston, online marketing director at Zoombits.co.uk.

He added that companies must also step up their game when it comes to website optimisation.

Twitter can be used as part of an effective multimedia strategy, Mr Tilston said, so long as keywords are included in Twitter posts, accounts and descriptions to allow the feed to be “properly optimised for Google”.

Deleting Your Google Search History

Deleting Your Google Search History

You probably use Google to search the Internet.  Did you know that Google, and your browser, maintain a history of your Internet activities?  In this article, we will take a look at why you want to remove this history and how to do it.

Most people do not know that their Internet activities are logged.  These activities are ostensibly logged for your convenience.  For example, if you have visited a page in the past, your browser maintains this information so that you do not need to type the whole website URL again.

Or in other cases, you may have typed something into the Google search box.  These searches are maintained by Google to present you with similar searches if you happen to be looking for the same thing in the future.  In fact, Google combines your previous searches with their own database to try to provide you with the optimal results.

However, what will happen if someone logs into your computer?  Can they see your previous Internet activities?

In many cases, the answer is yes.

The answer is certainly yes if yours is a Windows-based computer which only has one user ID.  In situations such as this, it is very easy to see the data used by other people on that computer.

If you do not want this to occur, you will need to take action to delete your Google search history.

There are three places to look to delete your Google history.  The first place, and the place that snoopers are likely to first check, is your browser bar where you put in the address of web sites that you visit.  This area maintains your search history which can easily be accessed by clicking the drop down box.

In most browsers, to remove your browser history, you will click “tools” and then “options” to find the tab that will allow you to delete your personal history.

Another location in which your history is maintained is in the Google Toolbar.  If you have installed the Google Toolbar, your history can be deleted by right-clicking in the search area and clicking “Clear History.”

Finally, the third piece of information that is stored is the information that you have typed into the Google search box.  This is maintained by your browser and can usually be deleted on a tab within your browsers “Tools-Options” choice.

In summary, if you do not want others to track your Google search history, make sure that you take the proper steps to delete it.

Twitter Marketing Strategies – Are These 4 Mistakes Costing You Money?

Twitter Marketing Strategies – Are These 4 Mistakes Costing You Money?

Twitter is an extremely popular and lucrative social networking site and is a great tool in your fight for traffic. Millions of people are now using twitter to converse on many different subjects all around the world, constantly. But before you start marketing on Twitter there are some mistakes that could cost you money if you dont avoid making them yourself.

1. Not using your own picture on your profile.

Although some twitter users do not use their own picture, they are missing out on potential followers because a real picture helps people connect with you and makes a good impression. Your own face on your profile allows others to know that you are a real person, not just a business trying to make money online.

2. Automatically sending direct messages to new followers that are sales messages.

This guarantees you will lose followers as quickly as you gained them. Only ever send out friendly, welcoming direct messages and not the type that tries to get your new follower to immediately buy something you are selling. It always puts people off, very few follow the link ion the message, and worse you might be losing followers by doing this.

It is possible that some will follow the link and purchase your product, but consider the overall cost of all those followers you have just lost. You get sick of salesmen, and so do your twitter followers, so dont be just another salesman. Instead just send a message that thanks them for following you.

3. Trying to get lots of followers without anything decent to post.

It is going to take you some time to grow your list of followers, so you have to be patient. You will not get many followers when all you are posting is that you are looking forward to using twitter, and those types of messages. If you have nothing of value to post yourself than simply retweet the valuable content of your niche market competitors. This is a great way of getting visitors to your profile, as people always like to see who is retweeting. Try and get yourself included in a discussion of others within your market.

4. Never send out one sales tweet after another.

If all you ever do is advertise your business all the time, without posting any other content type, then your followers will quickly get tired of this and stop following you. Think about this, why would anyone want to follow someone who only ever sells stuff and has nothing else of interest to say?

Twitter is for humans, not computers, so be friendly and do not over promote your business. Limit sales or advertising tweets to 10% of tweet content and keep the rest educational and informative. Try and post content that you would like to see yourself if the roles were reversed.

Although all this is mostly common sense, there are some twitter marketing strategies which are more complex, and perhaps best left to professional marketing automation products. These are not free, but the professional can see how to recoup such marketing expenditure in minutes when these twitter marketing strategies are in use.

Implication Of Twitter’s Exposure To Google Search

Implication Of Twitter’s Exposure To Google Search

As you may probably know, Google has announced its plan to integrate twitter updates into its search results, with the belief that Google search results and user experience will greatly benefit from the inclusion of this up-to-the-minute data. Today, I’m not going to talk about the private information security issue, which is always the first thing to come to one’s mind when talking about that integration. Rather, I’d like to discuss with you about the implication of twitter’s exposure to Google search to us webmasters.

Needless to say, twitter will become more important with regard to website promotion. Previously, updates about your business can be only seen by your twitter followers, the number of which is quite limited. After integration within Google search, things become different. Your profile updates will appear in the search results every time someone searches relative keyword through the search box. Just imagine how traditionally you get your website appeared in the search result pages. You probably need to exchange links with others, post replies in forums, post comments in blogs and so on. With twitter profile exposed to Google search, you simply add another effortless channel to direct your Google-targeted promotion efforts.

However, Abusing social network service’s promotional capability has always been a tendency among webmasters. I believe that tendency will become more so after Twitter profile gets exposed to Google search. Word of advice, Google and Twitter are not fools, if not more clever than anyone else. If one abuses twitter’s promotional capability, he or she will run the risk of getting punished in some way, for example, categorized as spam by either Twitter or Google.

Anyway, Twitter’s exposure to Google search is certainly a good news for us webmasters. We just need to be firmly disciplined in order not to abuse its promotional capability. After all, the principle mission of Twitter is to connect people, nothing else.
