At the start of 2010, Google is planning to reveal its new and upgraded version of Google search – codenamed Google Caffeine. The Web giant first began carrying the tests on its new search engine in August 2009 when the developer`s preview was released to the public. Following four long months of fine-tuning, Google Caffeine is ready to be rolled out. Some claim, it already has! You might not notice any changes to the actual appearance of Google search engine when they are released. This is due to the changes affecting the way search results are indexed and ranked rather than the layout/design of the website. There have been small changes recently to the way Google website looks but it is a completely unrelated project. The changes in the search engine are credited to the new filing system GFS2 (Google File System 2). The works on this system have been going for the last 2 years and the system will help Google index more documents using less amount of time. What benefits would Google Caffeine bring to its regular users? News, information and other search results will be boosted by real-time search. Over the last few years, the time between the appearance of new sites/information on the Internet and their indexation on Google has been slowly decreasing and with the new Google search, they will appear pretty much in real-time. Thanks to the cooperation with the likes of Facebook, MySpace and Twitter, Google search results will show the most to-date material from these sites. In summary, users will benefit from significantly improved speed, accuracy and comprehensiveness. There would be more reliance on keyword strings to give better results thus the task for SEO professionals will become tougher!
