My Experience with Google AdWords
SEO is the key to your success in online business. You can have a perfect web site with perfect graphic design but it is totally pointless if it is located at the bottom of google page ranks. You will have wasted your time and money on designing this site if you cannot move it up to page two at least.
Many people complain that being located at the bottom brings no business whatsoever. What can you do about it? There are two ways to go about it. First, you can subscribe to google adwords and pay for your first page location at the right hand side of the google column. Another method is to throw your effort to your site optimisation and get a natural google ranking. In this article I will discuss my experience with adwords.
Using adwords can bring results but you will have to spend a lot of money initially by trial and error. Rule number one: always pay for the first page location. If you are paying for any position less then 9 your site is likely to be clicked by competitors or curious users who have no intentions of buying your product. This will cost you dearly and you will have no return on investment.
Rule number two: find perfect key words that generate income. This is the most difficult bit. I can give you one important advice. Avoid the most generic and popular key words. They do not bring money but drive a lot of generic untargeted traffic to your web site. You end up paying for people’s curiosity and you can quickly become out of pocket. If you choose very specific targeted keywords you are likely to attract targeted traffic that will generate income.
I can give you an example. If you are promoting web hosting companies don’t use web hosting key word. Look it up at google key words tool and you’ll find out that the average monthly request number for this keyword equals some 5 million. With this number of hits the amount of untargeted users is vast. And you will be attracting just them. If you go for a specific key word such multiple domain web hosting , or unlimited bandwidth web hosting – you immediately attracting those, who are seriously searching to for web hosting services.
Another important tip is to organise your adverts in such a way that they would create a sense of urgency. Only adverts that convey a good message can attract traffic that converts into sales. So write your adverts in a humorous or alarming manner. By doing so your advert would stand out and would attract more clicks.
Having said all this, it is important to be patient and know that you can master Adwords only by trial and error. So you will have to put up with the fact that it is likely to cost some money before you are able to establish which keywords are the best and which key words can generate income. I wish you patience and wisdom in your future adwords campaigns.
