Can A College Decide Not Give Financial Aid For A Sem?

Ok my parents dont live together and yeah i filled out all my stuff and they said wait 3 weeks till i get somethin in the mail, but i overheard some people talkin about the college aint givin us our checks this sem, can they do that? Isnt the money the govt anyways?

    i think only if you made over a certain bracket…but if you’ve already been deemed eligible for fin. aid, and received it in the past, i really highly doubt it!

    well it depends on what its for… if its a scholarship of some sort, you have to keep the requirements or they can take it away. financial aid from the govt is distributed by needs, so if more people need it than you then you might not get it this semester bc they cant afford it. you also have to be taking classes full time and you also have to pass those classes with at least a C i think. if you take the financial aid and then fail you will have to pay it back.
    basically, yes they have the right to not give you financial aid. if you were told from the govt that you would get it then the school cant keep your check.
    there is some financial aid through the school and some through the government so there is a difference on where it comes from.
